When Jacksonville beats Buffalo and the Cowboys lose at home to the Bronco's you see that picking games can be impossible. 😞

I'm going ahead and calling it. Mr. Bounceback is probably in our midst. Titans hit for his second Prime Time snag of the weekend. 4-0 so far for P3P. Oh and have ya heard? His third PT pick for the week is involving tomorrow night's contest in his home town of Pittsburgh, PA.

P3P is working his way back into the thick of things in week 9.

Well I made it to 60 years old🕺and that means I am now only one step away from true old geezer status. What might I be doing on my birthday? Well I'm going golfing damn it. I have set up a fun competition that I am calling North v. South.

Dr. B. a close friend of mine and member at BFCC and I are heading this morning to Rutherfordton, NC to a fantastic golf course. I have Mike and Carl coming up from Tryon to complete the foursome. It will be known as the birthday boys' battle at Cleghorn. The two from NC are taking on the two from SC. Cleghorn is a challenging track that will wreck ya if you get a little sideways.

I received my booster shot Saturday after work. I'm happy I got a fresh dose of anti-covid juice, but my arm is still rather stiff and sore. I don't believe it will be an issue with my swing though.

The good weather has returned to Asheville this week, and for my 3 days in a row of golf it is to be sunny and 65*-75*. Hey thanks golf gods for brightening the skies of the western Carolina mountains for the second week of November.  

My confidence level really is irrelevant today as it is more about me giving gratitude for living six decades and enjoying golf with good friends for four of them.

Today's first North v. South battle took place on a golf course that featured a good many driver shots into banked fairway's.

The weather was superb and the fall colors once again amazed me. A double recap comes your way after I play Tryon tomorrow. 

Over 70* and sunny this week. I must have accrued some solid golf karma this year.    🙂

Some big spreads this week, not quite as big as turning 60, but still big in a small sense.  I remember when I thought 60 was ancient, now it doesn't feel as ancient, but Touch, make no mistake you didn't walk with dinosaurs, but you did see the good bands.  I celebrated Touch's impending milestone with a trip to his old haunts in Vegas.

 

So let's keep it in the desert this week... to a point.  So, the production values of Vegas are over the top, and we know that.  We saw a show of overblown production which left this fat guy a little disappointed.  I have always like Gwen Stefani, and particularly liked No Doubt years ago and thought, why not go see her?  There were dancers, there were stairs, there were costume changes, it had everything Vegas is about.  I didn't think the sound system was great, and she was really quite good and fun.  Know what else is over-produced?  The KC malaise.  I just see KC heading to Vegas, not seeing Gwen, not seeing Shin Lim or Cirque du Soleil.  I just see them winning by a field goal or more.  KC and giving the points.

 

What is King of Pain?  Is it Touch turning 60 and trying to use the bathroom?  It could be, he hasn't indicated as much.  Or, is it about his upcoming colonoscopy to celebrate this milestone?  So much pain to endure.  For a funny experiment, I encourage you all, when it is your time, to weigh yourself just before you start the intestine clearing cocktail and then weigh yourself just before you leave for the procedure.  The results will be eye popping, and a little funny.  I am taking the big spread in celebration of a big milestone.  AZ over the hapless Panthers.

 

My one loss this week was So Lonely, and thankfully Boswell came through with a Message in a Bottle (SOS).  In a completely different type of Vegas show, Sting played and the sound system was really good.  It was essentially a concert.  Not so overproduced and the songs were well produced, he was very respectful of his musicians and introduced them twice, made some small talk in between songs and it was an excellent show.  No costume changes or running around for Sting, just straight up Police songs and some of his newer stuff since the Police.  It took me back to 1983 for a few songs when I was about 20 rows back for the Ghost in Machine Tour in the Steel City.  Well, PGH plays DET, and give me the under.  Just not a lot of offense is going to happen so I think the spread is too great.

 

All this from a critical thinker who just happens to know Joe Rogan...
