John was a pleasure to work with. Was amazed by the willingness and enthusiasm to customize beyond what was even listed as options on his website to make a turky one of a kind prototype. The entire experience is as close to tour treatment as you can get. IMO, his use of multi material design makes his putter the most underrated and highest performing custom putters on the market. Every other will make you something cosmetically unique and beautiful. However, while Johns putters are cool looking in their own right, unlike his competitors, they are built most precisely to perform specifically for you. Incredible experience. Cannot wait to build a few more with him in the future.

I had a driver fitting the other day over in Dallas.  Little one man shop that really has got it going on.  He can fit your entire bag - woods, hybrids, irons, wedges, putters.  He fits for Bettinardi and Piretti putters- not your cheaper putter manufacturers by far.

When I got there the owner took a look at my bag, saw my Artisan wedges, and asked about my putter.  I told him it was Artisan as well as I took off the head cover and handed it to him.  He grinned, walked over to the putting wall, and grabbed his gamer.  He fits Bettinardi and Piretti, but he putts Artisan.

My putter is an 0920 head.  His was an 0217.  The builds were completely different but the feel of a well struck putt was EXACTLY the same on each putter.  His putter was more upright than mine so I had to modify my stroke a little, but if I had been blindfolded I would have known by the feel of the strike I was putting an Artisan.

Yes.  They are that good.  And I've got a hankering for that 0217 head now... dang it...

Funny, the road that lead to Artisan began w Bettinardi. Went to their Studio B to do a custom build. Fitting was underwhelming. Head and neck options limited, but paint and stamp options abound. 
 

Took a broad and deep approach to the custom putter world and landed at Artisan. They are truly unique in the market.

The whole experience at Artisan is amazing; the staff Are all so nice. Even just swinging by to get some work done is done quickly and with a great chat from John or other guys there.

 

My putter is now I the three years old and going no where; funny when John saw it last he was shocked how good condition it still was. My wedges are 1.5 years old and still going strong after two re blasts; I hope they last the year but we will see plus I have moved from Texas to Scottish links so my wedges are not set up perfectly but in all honesty so far I have not seen a fault.

 

My dad has wedges and a putter and he is equally enjoying his as much as I do(he has links grind wedges).

Looking at ordering another putter from John.  Like that neck on a OG 0217 head, but need it to be pretty much face balanced.  May have to stick with a long plumber's neck.

0117. It is pretty thin. But nice and heavy! 365 at 33”

Yeah I'd definitely prefer the wider one but that's still really nice, I need to eventually go down to Ft. Worth and get one of these fit to me.

They did but don't have any right now, they may have them again. Would be cool to do both as a lefty there.

I noticed that as well and though it was weird.  My 0217 does and most pics i have seen still have them.

With regards to the 0117 vs the 0120; does anyone know approx. just how much longer in blade length and width the 0120 is over the 0117? Curious all the subtle differences between these two...

Had my wedge and putter fitting with them today...honestly the best golf-equipment related experience I have had in my life.  Just chatting with the crew was amazing - real nerds and I love it! MT already on the wheel at 8:45 AM...

 

Putter fitting with John was special - I felt like it was more of a putting lesson than a fitting lol - and then he created the perfect putter...he is so quick at identifying what you are good and where you need help with...amazing...

 

Can only give my absolutely highest recommendations...now the wait begins.

 

I kinda wanted to add something: The special thing with the folk is that they are so humble and so caring that you kind of forget that they have worked with the absolute best player(s) in the world. Both Jamie and John were so focused on the results for ME that it didn't even bother me if I hoseled the occasional wedge or hit the put 5 feet past the hole. It was clear that they cared about MY results and helping me to play better golf and shoot lower scores. After my fitting, Jamie fitted an LPGA player and I was reminded just how far away I am from that skillset - yet, she got the same level of attention and care that I received...just that he probably had an easier time selecting a grind 😉
