It finally arrived. The same midtown grey with turquoise zipper pulls a few other people have gotten.

First impression is that it's nicely made but just so-so on functionality.

Bag weighs 5 lbs almost on the dot. I'm comparing this to my Nike Sport Lite II which is 4.5lbs so about a .5lb more for the Jones.

The jones has no external velcro for your glove and no internal pocket inside the large zipper. There is also no D-ring or anything for a towel high up by the top unless I'm missing it? The zippered pocket to the right-side of the cooler pocket is basically useless as the cooler takes up most of it. Also there is no 'marker' slot on the outside.

Even my wife's Titleist 4 Players stand bag has all of these features (the top just sucks as is not a 6 way).

Now onto the straps - how the hell do you use these things? I'm coming from a 1-piece X-shape strap on my Nike (and my wife's Titleist) which both work flawlessly but this Jone strap is a 2-piece floppy mess that is hard to reach for and hard to adjust - so far. Also the connections for the straps are in the dumbest spots. Both the Nike and the Titleist bags have far better mounting positions for comfort that I can see so far.

I'm going to walk 9 holes this weekend so we'll see how it does but if I dont think its any better than the Nike; I'll probably put it on the BST. Gonna give it a chance but I had much higher hopes.

You pretty much nailed all of the things that I dislike about my Trouper 2.0. While I can appreciate Jone's approach to the "minimalist" design it just doesn't seem to work for me like I'd hoped. I miss the features and well thought design that my Hoofer had. Likely selling mine soon, too.

Thanks for the feedback/mini-review.  I've been on the fence on these as it's a crazy good deal, but I don't really need another bag, short of putting together yet another set that just sits in my office getting ogled I guess.

I have a Titleist Cart 14 bag for riding, and my walking bag is a Craz E Lite that's I think a generation or two old now.  These Jones bags looks incredible (and ~$130 is a screaming good deal) but I just can't think of anything it'll do better than that Craz E Lite.  The Ping has a six way divider, weights like maybe 2.5 lbs with some tees and a sleeve of balls in it, has all the pockets I need, and a double strap that's incredibly comfortable, at least on my shoulders.  Oh well.  Thanks for talking me out of buying something I don't need haha.

The new Greyson Trouper has me really wanting to pull the trigger.  Is it really that bad?  The only thing I need pockets for are:  5 balls, few tees, divot tool, wallet, key fob, phone, water bottle.  Don't use a rangefinder or gloves, only carry 7 or 8 clubs.  Will Trouper be OK for that gear???

As mentioned itll be way to big for that little of stuff. A bag with a smaller top that's a little tighter should work better for you if you want a full size bag and not one of the old school carry bags.
