That is the ugliest driver I've seen in a while.

Everyone thought the current Burner was ugly when they first saw it. Since then, it has been the top-selling driver and has gotten rave reviews from most. Let's see how it performs first.

Yow! I am a TaylorMade loyalist, but I just feel like they are getting further and further away from being "the best performance brand in golf."

I know that looks aren't everything and that performance is the real litmus test, but I guess I'm disenchanted with the way the brand seems to be careening towards the days of the TiBubble 2.

The adidas brand, Rossa sub-brand, and golf ball segment seem to be thriving. But for a company that has owned the tee box for most of this decade, their last few driver releases don't exactly scream quality.

Its like Callaway = the iPhone. Nike = Blackberry. And TMaG is bringing out Zack Morris's brick phone!!!

The grey finish is retro callaway, remember the Big, Bigger, Biggest, Great Big, Biggest of All drivers that callaway had for years, had that color. I wonder if the top coat will flake away like dead skin as it did on all those callaway drivers and fairway woods?

My thoughts are who cares the looks as long as it performs....... Funny how everyone cares about how the drivers looks.... I mean who in your weekend group say "Man that a ugly driver" You hit it 280 down the pipe..... They respond " Man I'm getting one of those" Come on guys looks are nothing!

Agreed I have the 07 Burner TP with a diamana red and I just do not see anything out performing it but you never know... For the record it is fugly but looks don't count:)

TM rep was at the local Roger Dunn store.

 

Got to see this new Burner in person...I LIKE IT!!!!

 

Got to hold it and see how it looks at address....did not get to hit it though.

 

At address the shape looked like a cross between the Burner TP and CGB. It does not have that "high MOI look"

 

Not like the CGB, D1, Nike...

 

Shape is not traditional but it is not bad! I can't wait til it comes out..

 

Anyway, I could not resist getting the MP600....so it is unlikely that I will be able to get this new

Burner anyway...I still can't wait to hit it though.

it really does look like the d1 from the top, only grey now. and it is a much hotter head than the v1 and v2 burners. i like this club, and i'd keep mine if only its face were not closed. but it is quite nice, once you hit it. i'd be the first to agree that it looks terribly ugly in the pictures. but in person, up close, you get used to it. and when you get acquainted with it after the first hit with that added forgiveness / accuracy and length, it starts to look quite appealing.
