2008 TaylorMade Tour Burner and Tour Burner TP Driver Pics!!!

In hand Pics of TM next generation driver...

Taylor Made has a new driver coming this spring. The dual crowned Tour Burner and Tour Burner TP. Both will be 460 cc but the Tour burner will come stock with the Fuiji RE*AX, and the Tour Burner TP will have the same 3 shaft options the CGB Max limited has available. Fuji Rombax, Diamana Whiteboard, and Matrix Ozik XCon. Face more open for the TP version.

Very low spin high launch driver.

As always, well done Richard! It's funny that I'm saying this, but I actually prefer last years model. The CGB shape doesn't do anything for me. Either way, great pics!

Yuk! What happened to that toe? No crown graphics? Grey top with a black face and sole look backwards, should have been other way around.

Why did TM use the Burner name when it clearly looks like the r7CGB MAX (triangle shape). Should have been named the Burner CGB MAX.

Looks like I will be sticking with my 07 Burner TP.

Well the news of this driver came out just days after purchasing my first tour Burner head ,,, Feeling that once again I should have waited....but now I've waited for this Pics, boy am I glad i got my 07 Burner

Someone posted a pic of the tour model without the paintfill and IMO it looked nicer....

 

update: found the pic, although it has some grey paintfill, it still looks better...

that thing makes the power pod look nice, as unual TM comes out with yet another different design before dealers can move the last design. No wonder retailers cant stand them.

If you want a gorgeous driver, and you dont have to follow the herd like a lemming, look at the mp=600 from Mizuno. Best looking ive seen in yrs, no gimmicks to look at, just a beautiful club. Remember if you cant hit it straight its not the arrow its the archer. Try practicing instead of buying all these nonsensicle looking clubs.

The simple design is actually too simple. No real lines or character to it.

Sure it plays well as my Burner TP does but see the need to upgrade to it.


Anyone know a approx. eta on it to retail?

And if they will be releasing fairways and hybrids to follow?

I really like the look. I am just very surprised a lot of people do not like it. I always thought I shared the same taste as most people here. A lot of love for the look on the MP600, D2, 905, etc.

Is this just hate for TM b/c they come out with a new driver too often?

Yes, the shape is not traditional but to me it's really not that bad looking as the CGB, D1, or square drivers.

I know everyone has different taste but there are some basic things...a Ferrari is a Ferrari and a Pinto is a Pinto.

I'll hit it when it comes out if i get more distance than my present driver I'll bag it. Could care less about how it looks if I'm gaining distance & accuracy.

Can anyone confirm the cc on these? It seems everyone is saying 415cc but someone said 450-460cc.

It's seems like they're trying to hide some of the 450 cc's by putting them where you can't see them at address. I like the WB shaft option. If it's already high launch I don't think I'll be looking into the Matrix option as I don't like my ball flight too high. All in all,

You could feel this way with TM from now till the end of time. They are cut their own profits buy introducing too many clubs too close together.

That thing is f ing ugly. If it preforms as advertised and is better than the current burner tour I might give it a shot, after some custom paint fill work. Can't wait for the comparisions between the two. If it is not better I will get the 07 burner for 1/3 of the price.

I don't understand TM's current fascination with odd coloured crowns. I'm all for challenging club design axioms but they've gone about this the wrong way in my opinion.

Cool picvs....but as some one mentioned, I like the look of last years more. It just doesnt look quite right to me..and I cant put my finger on what it is...probably the odd shape, and the little nooks and crannies...reminds me of the outfield designs in most of the new ball parks!
