The fli hi is the best current utility out there followed by the Srixon zx. But the face design on the fli hi creates a strong flight and a soft responsive feel.

Would you guys that have hit it go with 3 or 4 as a 3 iron replacement? I guess that looks like a dumb question but I've read that this club is hot and I want something to sit in between my 4 iron (716 AP2) and 4 wood.

Don’t know but I am looking for the same gap and I just got the FliHi 3. I wanted to make sure I was going to be longer then my 4iron which is about 215ish carry. Hope I am right with my guess?

this is what I want answered.  currently have a Hot Metal Pro 4 iron which is 19 degrees and 38.5" long.  Looking at the Pro FliHi in a 3 iron but it is also 19 degrees but with a longer shaft at 39.25".  I only want an extra 10 to 15 metres out of it so I think the extra shaft length of the Pro FliHi will give me that even though they are the same loft.

My 4iron is 22 degrees and 38.5” long. Hopefully the FliHi 3 works well with my set

I believe the Fli hi 3 is 19 degrees and the 4 fli hi is 21.5.

Yes that is correct. The loft of my set 4iron is 22. Just was hoping it has a good yardage gap between nothing too much

How are people finding these, have many had them out on the course?

 

I have looked at all 3 to either replace the 4 iron, 3 to replace the hybrid/7 wood, or the 2 for a tee specialist club. I hit all 3 indoors with tape on but it's hard to tell much from that. I am moving back to a club where the 2 iron is a useful club so I am leaning towards this. Thanks

Restarting this thread... How's everyone enjoying their Fly-Hi? I've ordered one, but the Mizuno hacking delay has certainly pushed out my delivery... Hoping to hear some more positive reviews!

I have the 3. It is awesome. Looks amazing. Feels great. Mid/low flight, exactly what you want from this type of club. Decently forgiving and mis-hits don't sting my hands as much as some other utility irons. It is kind of unbelievable to me that some people are knocking it because of the black finish. To me, the black finish is awesome. This is my favorite purchase in a long time....and I buy a lot of clubs.

Just ordered a Fli Hi 3i to replace my 4 hybrid. Golf Galaxy had a custom option for the same price as stock. I was hoping to get an MMT 80 S to match my PXG 1-iron, but they didn’t have it as an option. I’m hoping the Fujikura Evo HB 80 S will hit the window I’m looking for.

 

Hoping it will step between my 4 iron at 21.5 degrees and my PXG 1-iron at 15 degrees. Might need to bend a degree or half degree strong, but I’m thinking the steel in the 4i vs the evo in the 3i will put me halfway between the 4 and the 1.

 

Will post an update when I have a chance to hit it in on sim and on course.

I hit the Fli hi in a local Golftown here in Canada. It felt great, even with the stock shaft that i hate!!

 

I might consider getting rid of my Apex Pro 21 4 iron and substituting with a Fli Hi 3 iron to fill the gap between a 5 wood and the 5 iron. 3 Iron would typically be an off the tee club.

Oh heck yes...easiest 2 iron to hit. Went with the tensie white shaft its cemented its spot in the bag thats for sure.

Picked up the fli-hi 3 with Rdx smoke last week. It’s a sick piece of gear. Super easy to hit and mishits haven’t been penalizing at all.

I started this thread and got the 225 irons, but now I'm stuck without a place in the bag for a Fli-Hi. I would think about it as an occasional replacement for 7w, but I want to be sure it's not just a club for low bullets. What kind of height are people getting relative to similarly numbered irons or the equivalently lofted fairway?

Yes. Love it. I have the 3 and 4 but right now only the 4 in the bag. The 3 and my 7 wood go the same distance and I want the 7 wood in the bag.

I hit my 3 iron as high as the 20* Super Hybrid and Ping 19*/20* hybrids that I’ve had, main difference being that the Pro Fli Hi doesn’t balloon.  It gets up and just goes.  I haven’t decided if I’m going to keep the stock shaft in it or not, but height definitely hasn’t been a problem.   For reference I’ve also got a Sub 70 Pro Utility 4 iron in the bag and the Mizuno Pro Fli Hi 3 iron gets to a much higher peak than it does.

Don’t have actual apex numbers for you, but off the turf my fli hi 3 was maybe 20 feet lower than my 4i ball flight (average height).  Off the tee I would say it’s a probably just slightly lower than my 4i. It definitely gets up in a hurry, but flattens out with tons of ball speed. Runs out probably 10% of carry yardage if I were to guess. Definitely not holding a green with it, but  I feel like it’s definitely going to be a great fairway finder or 2nd shot club on a par 5.

Anyone hit both this and the P790 UDI? The P790 is a rocket and goes forever when I'm hitting it well, but on off days it's not even on the planet for me. Definitely one of those times where my results during the fitting are different than the course. I rarely hit it bad inside on a sim, but some days on the course it feels like a muscleback if I'm not swinging it 100%.

Can anyone comment on the Mizuno pro fli hi for a picker/sweeper of the ball? How's the 'thin' miss? or a toe miss?

 

I have the HMB 2 iron right now and it's pretty forgiving for a groove thin but it fairly penalizing (distance wise) for a toe miss. Overall I like the club and blends well with my set, but am interested in any improvements with the new fli hi 2 iron.
