I'm 112-115 on course but have a pretty aggressive transition. I like shafts that feel like they have a more pronounced kick, but I seem to get fit into stout profiles. Last fitting I had my best results were with the Accra Tour RPG Gold 472 M5+ 🤷‍♂️.  I've been bouncing around to try other shafts that are close without shelling out $350-$400 new for the Gold, but nothing else really compares. Would like to sell some things and try that out along with the TPO 1K.

That’s great on course speed man.

Me too with the TPO 1k haha.  Its a problem…bc I’m hitting my driver better than ever 🤦🏻‍♂️😂

I love my white 1k.  Have you tried that shaft?  To me, it’s like a smoother VB.  Another one I want to try is the 22 Accra TZ5.  Such good looking shafts.

I have not yet. Not many places around here (Madison, WI) that have a ton of custom shafts to hit. Club Champion recently came but I didn't have the best experience the last time I was there. Running total over the last couple of months:

  • Ck Orange 70X
  • CK Pro Orange 70 TX
  • Ventus Black 6TX
  • Rogue White 130 60X
  • AD-XC 70TX
  • AV White 65X
  • In coming - Accra Tour Z RPG 472 M5+ 2020 version

So far the Pro Orange is the leader in the clubhouse but would love to see if I can feel the difference in the 1K models

Something like Dollar Driver Club but for shafts would be nice, but alas, have to play the burn and churn game.

Just got out on the course for the first time with the TD and I might have to walk back my words. Just as forgiving and far on the mishits as the 425LST with a lighter head and much better sound/feel. Played both in the draw setting with the VB in the TD and switched up with the LST between the TPO and AD XC. Will be interesting once the courses dry up and I bring my spin down which one will win out.

I received my Max LS last week and went out for a quick 9 and played 18 yesterday.  I was playing a 0811 X for the past year with good results, but I found my misses were a little loose. I usually play a cut and the miss with the PXG was a hard pull or a tailing fade/slice. I had to really go at it to get results.

The Rogue Max LS is just really consistent with ball speed, distance, sound and misses. I have yet to experience the hard pull or tailing fade/slice. I was swinging more smooth and getting better results and about 10 yds more distance. I didn’t get fit for either driver, but know what I fit into. Not sure if it’s the weight of the PXG (Reminds me heavier head, Ping).

Overall, really impressed with the Rogue Max LS.

Whats the biggest differences between the Epic Speed, Rogue ST LS and Rogue ST TD? Which one is going to be more anti left?

the TD is 10cc smaller and will likely be the most anti-left as it comes in a slightly flatter lie IIRC. I loved the Epic Speed, ended up playing 4 different versions (std speed, Max LS 9 deg, TD 9 deg, and a Max LS 10.5) Personal preference: I've loved the matte black head since the Ping I20. I think the ST LS has the forgiveness of the Speed Max LS with the sound of the std Speed, which I also felt was the best of the bunch. The TD sound was great in the Speed family but I'm just as long with the ST Max LS as I ever was with the TD. I also prefer the look of the face on the Rogue (very Titleist TSi looking).

I have a Tensei Blue '22 65g Reg Tipped 1/2",  and an IZ-6 SR for mine. Initial impressions are that they feel fairly similar but the IZ looks to have more roll out. Will get them on the trackman soon.   I also have a Tensei AV 1st Gen 65 Stiff, but that doesn't do much for me.  Rogue Max ST is an absolute cannon!

@stoneydukes which one is more forgiving? Epic speed vs rogue max ls and TD?

From my experience, I'd go rogue max LS, epic speed, then TD from most to least forgiving. I felt I lost a little distance in the speed product line when I went from std speed to speed max LS. I feel like I gained that all back with the rogue max LS with better looks and sound.

Not trying threadjack, but I just picked up a shaft that has an Optifit2 sleeve on it and it is 44” from tip to grip. What length will a Rogue ST Max D head play at with this shaft. Sorry, have not owned a Callaway driver in 10 years I think. I will be playing mine at 44.75” and wondering how much I will have to butt cut.

After my fitting Saturday I could not help but search out the components used to get my setup together.

My VR is just a bit over 43.5 from tip to grip and plays 44.75 to the end of the grip.

i got the same stock shaft you did in stiff. I also like the Graphite Design shafts — I mean, what’s not to like? — and I get a little more length with the AD XC, but I am keeping this newest version of the Tensei Blue around because I think it’s a very nice stock shaft that almost anyone can play. Has some nice zip to it but feels stable.

Yeah, you can pretty much bank on any Callaway driver head adding 1.25 inches to whatever the shaft plus adapter measures. I think this AD XC I put in shortened mine from the stock length by 3/4 inch from standard, which is probably a factor in me hitting it so well. I like to be around 45, give or take 1/4 inch.

Thanks fellas. Looks like I’ll have to take off 1/2”. Now I’ll have to wait and see what the stock headweight is to see what aftermarket weight I will need to get it back to D5. I have the specs from my fitting and he used a 16 gram weight.

Post what weight you end up using. Callaway heads are light. I usually test with lead tape and for permanent fix I like a combo of heavier weights in the port with a little hot melt in the corners of the face. I’ve had Callaway heads I almost gave up on and then I got the head weight up and it changed everything. This particular head is a winner so I want to get it just right.

I just looked at EBay and saw some. That’s usually where I get them for TM drivers. Billy Bobs has them too.
