2022 Callaway Rogue ST drivers (in-hand photos)

I ordered the Max LS Tensei White 1/2 inch short on Sunday night. Mine is in shipping status today.

Hmmmm...I ordered mine Sunday morning. Tensei Blue at - 3/4". My status still has the same 1-2 weeks.

I got excited when my order showed as “shipped” too but it was just the status on the trade in UPS label. The driver itself still says 1-2 weeks.

My order for a Rogue LS 9* on an IM10 shaft shipped today. I think I ordered on Saturday.

What was the upcharge for the TR? There is a guy on here who gets Ventus regularly that has some TRs. If it isn't too much of a price difference, could always reach out to him and then call Callaway to change you order to something in stock to get the head more quickly.

I went out tonight and played 9 with the Max LS. It was really windy, so hard to judge true distance. The Driver performed very well and is consistently 10 yds longer than my PXG 0811X.  It looks better, feels better and sounds better.

Got my Triple Diamond yesterday. Ordered at a D4 but haven't been able to weigh it to see if that's what it came as. Front weight was a 6g weight. Have others had this as the stock weight? 

 

Anyway, hit it with a Ventus Black 6TX and the stock AV White 65X against my 425LST with TPO 70TX and GD XC 7TX. Clearly not apples to apples but wanted to compare between all the shafts.

 

The TD turned over more with the AV compared to VB as would be expected. Good strikes with the VB were in the 2400 - 2800 range, spinning more than I thought they would. It set up to my eye a bit closed as well. No ball speed difference that I could tell between both heads. No warm up, cruising between 110-112. The biggest difference was that the 425LST was spinning about 400rpm lower on average. 

 

To the Max LS owners, how does the head sit behind the ball? Is the LS a lower spinning head than the TD overall?

I think I saw on a TXG video that LS spins less than the TD

Have a Callaway driver fitting this Sat at my home course. Kinda excited to see what they fit me in. Bringing my Sim2 AD HD setup to compare. Hoping they have a good selection of shafts. I have never been to a Callaway fitting.

We had one and I hit the Rogue's against my Speed gamer and left keeping my Epic Speed; even the rep said dont upgrade.

 

But here I am a month later with a Rogue Max that I fit myself into and it's miles better than the Speed I had. YMMV on the fitting lol. I just can't hit things at stock spec.

Seems like they have a shortage of Ventus shafts. My LS 3 wood order was taking longer than expected so reached out to customer service today and they said it was delayed due to backorder of Ventus Black 7X. Expected availability for the shaft is around 4/21

I doubled up & went with a Rogue ST TD paired with a Rogue White 130.  
 

Haven’t hit it yet, but MAN, it sure is pretty!!!!!!!

Hilarious and totally believable. Not all fitters are good at fitting.

I have a Speed and a Rogue Max.  Put them up against one another on the course and simulator using the same shaft (my gamer shaft) and I saw no real difference between them in performance.  I do give looks to the Speed and sound to the Rogue.  Ill swap between the two just to change it up from time to time.

On the course is what was different. Dispersion and confidence is way up over the Speed, for me. Also I was spinning the speed a little much around 2900. My current setup is closer to 2500 and the spin retention across the face on the Max is much better.

I ordered mine The MAX LS model on 3/30 and it arrived 4/5 pretty fast I think, I couldn't resist the 50% additional trade in value. My Tensei 1K 50 Pro White will be here in 3 more days, now I just need some nice weather here in Ohio.

They were all the same on best strikes. That is usually the case.
 

Rogue Max LS won for me on most playable and accurate mishits with reduced spin.

Lots of talk about stability and similar ball speeds even on mishits. Seems like Callaway and TM have been moving that direction and encroaching on Ping's territory, for lack of a better word. Will be interesting how Ping's next gen drivers respond since the other OEMs seem to be moving towards more forgiveness.

I like Ping drivers and the Rogue ST lineup seems the closest Callaway has come to producing their version of a Ping driver. The Rogue ST sounds a lot better to my ear than the g425. The standard g400 (445cc) remains my favorite Ping driver.

Max LS spun for to me and sits nice and straight behind the ball.  I know what you mean with the TD.  I wonder if it’s the face shape bc it appears ever so slightly closed.

I hit the TD tonight again at my local indoor Trackman. Just not agreeing with me like my old SZ did (which is already on the way to Callaway 😐). I'll take my shaft into Dick's and hit the Max LS just to see if it looks better to my eye,  but more than likely the TD will be up on BST soon with the AV White 65X and maybe a Ventus Black 6TX as well.

Went and hit the LS today.  Definitely sits more open to my eye in relation to the TD which is interesting, but neither model gave me the consistency that my SZ or the 425 does. Not sure why as I've always played Callaway, but may have something to do with my timing using the heavier Ping head lately. Love the look, love the sound but just don't seem to hit either model on the screws enough to not sell it. As always ymmv.

Just left my Callaway driver fitting at my local course. Awesome fitter Zack that knew what he was doing.
 

Warmed on on trackman with new range balls hitting my Sim2 AD HD 6s. Tried the Max LS RDX Black 6.0 then the Smoke Green. Big high cuts that were spinning mid 3000’s just like my Sim. He then had me try the Max D 9* with a Ventus Blue 6s. Bam! Instantly better! Then… put me into a AD TP 6s minus 1” and a 16 gram heel weight and turned down to 8*. Was around D6 and felt amazing! Even better than the Ventus. Dispersion was so good and so long. What I remember is that spin was 2300 with 14 degree launch and ball speed around 157. Carrying it 270. That is exactly a 30 yard gain from my Sim. Wow! No, was not fit into my Sim setup. I told him I have not hit a driver than long in forever. He even showed me how Trackman was setup so I would believe him that it’s not juiced or setup not normalized?? Man that was fun to hit a driver THAT good. 
 

Just goes to show you fitters know what they are doing. I was putting balls one after another right on top of each other and all carrying the same distance and consistent spin. He said my spin axis got down to around 4 which is good I guess. Could not pull the trigger on $700 today, but this will my setup coming soon. Have not owed a Callaway driver in about 10 years.
 

Thanks Zack and Callaway for a great fitting today. Love the new drivers.

I'm 112-115 on course but have a pretty aggressive transition. I like shafts that feel like they have a more pronounced kick, but I seem to get fit into stout profiles. Last fitting I had my best results were with the Accra Tour RPG Gold 472 M5+ 🤷‍♂️.  I've been bouncing around to try other shafts that are close without shelling out $350-$400 new for the Gold, but nothing else really compares. Would like to sell some things and try that out along with the TPO 1K.
