The ball rolls so true. It goes straight to where I aim it. Now I've been known to not aim so hot so there is that.

For those that have or are playing the Triad how do you think it does in windy conditions?

Top tier, it's the offspring of the duo pro, one of the best ever. Always my choice when a cool windy day presents itself

Thank you....good to know.  I've been playing the Bridgestone BX as my wind ball, but I'm out and wouldn't mind saving a few bucks so I'll give these Triad's a go.

I would say good but not great

The old Snell Black was the best ball in the wind  IMO

Also like the Z-Star better in the wind

That BX is no slouch, the better of the firm balls for the wind.

I have played 2 rounds with the ball. The jury is still out overall, but so far I am impressed.

First round I played, was at a local course and the greens were not ready for the season. Way too fast, not rolled, etc. so it was hard to tell how it would control around the green.

Second round I played, at first, I thought that I could not spin the ball. However, I went past a par 3 and had a delicate chip, shortsighted and slightly downhill and it checked up very nice.

It also does not hurt that in those 2 rounds, I did not lose a ball and I have 4 birdies.

With the weather starting to get warmer, I am excited to see how it performs in more improved conditions. But at $39.99 a dozen, it can not be beat.

Curious if anyone with faster club head speed has used these and if they stay even with prov and z star for distance?
always curious to try things but I avoid the more softer balls because they lose distance for me at a higher speed

130 ish mph driver speed here. I’m incredibly impressed by this golf ball. Easily the straightest golf ball I’ve ever hit.

I love the Duo Pro--I've gone through my stash of white shiny finish balls, and have 3 dozen bright color matte finish which are ok, but not as good as the standard finish. The mattes were cheap-- $20/dozen a year ago.

I’m not sure if it’s in my head and I’m buying into the marketing, but these do seem to roll really straight when putting. I’ve only been able to putt indoors but they seem really true and hold the line.

Same here. Played first round with these yesterday and had my best putting day in at least a few years. Not sure if it's placebo or what, but they just seem to track better to your aim point. Feel great off all clubs too. Very impressed with the Triad.

I live in Texas. The plus side is you can golf year round. The downside is you can pretty much count on winds 15-20 and gusts 25-30 from March-April.  So how a ball performs in the wind is a very important. It was one of the things I think that led Ballmanic to recommend the Triad.

Just like absolutely everything else about the Triad....it's pretty good at everything, but not great. It's good in the wind. But I found the Chrome Soft X and Bridgestone BX (and Q-Star Tour) performed better on the windiest days.

I played the Triad for a couple of months. The Chrome Soft ended up being a better ball for me. And the B3G1 made them $36 a dozen, which was cheaper than the Triad.

Some plusses that stand out for me:

- alignment aid, really effective, like it almost as much as triple track

- great yellow, premium look/feel

- pleasing sound/feel, especially off driver

- just the right amount of click off putter

- tracks along putt aim line exceptionally well

- high straight, almost self correcting flight

As a ProV1 and on off ERC/TP5 player for the last two seasons, looking forward to giving the Triad a go this season.

100% agree with all of these statements

With the exception of the yellow because I have not played the yellow

I have  a dozen Triads left and then I will give the new Snell Black a try only because I was a die hard Snell Black player

If the new Snell Black is not as good as the old one or the Triad, then the Triad will become my go to ball for the year.

Wilson has a winner IMO

Unfortunately, I didn't find the triad to be very impressive. I never observed much in terms of straighter and did not have the chance to experience the wind last weekend.

For me, the main thing is the feel, it feels a little bit cheap and kind of hard from my point of view.

I was impressed with the staff model previously, was hoping this could have been a more affordable alternative.

Will still keep it in rotation for comparison and check if they change my mind over time.

So 4 league rounds in tonight, still very impressed with Triad. One of the guys we were playing against asked how I hit the ball so straight. Granted I hit ProV1s pretty straight too, but undoubtedly an unwanted cut or draw will creep in on shots with ProV just when you don't want it, seems to just not happen with Triad. Still love the putting alignment/feel/speed control, and drives feel like you crushed it. Only drawback is greenside spin, seems to be less check there but some of that is  definitely my short game flaws. Overall love playing this ball and my scores definitely reflect it.

I have been wanting to try this ball for a while now, and picked up a dozen earlier this week. My thoughts after my first round:

I  really like the feel of the ball.  Soft but not super soft.  When you hit the ball right, it has a higher launch and does play very straight.  It isn't a miracle worker, but I do feel like it reduces dispersion.  Driver distance was great.  My only knock on the ball was the spin on short game shots.  Granted, the greens I played today were firm and fast, but I was struggling to get the ball to stop without a floppy shot.

Overall, pleased with the ball.  But if I can't get it to spin better for short game, I probably won't come back to it.

It really is a good ball. Wilson has some good products. They have the worst marketing department in the world..

I'm admittedly a bit of a Wilson gear homer, I think their irons are some of the best values in golf. The Duo has been a favorite fall/winter ball for me for years. But their marketing department... yikes. They've been bad for years and are only getting worse.
