I miss the distance but will try and see how my arccos stats hold up with the i230 for the a couple rounds.

Going to left dash prov1x this year.

So a few things…

I think you'll like your Arccos stats because your proximity will improve. That should improve your GIR and make up&dn easier. The proximity stats will make you forget about the 4 extra yards quickly. 🙂

You may want to turn your right hand (trail) a tiny bit in either direction to "dial in" (dial out?) the influence of your hand/wrist closure for the draw-on-pull. You're a 6; you'll find where it is. Grip size can also contribute, as well as an over-active backswing.

The spin numbers on the 230 should also help you hold greens. It would be interesting to see how your ball generally travels from the pitch mark. If your descent angle is good, it won't be much. None is ideal, but not practical. If it's coming in with less spin, it's a roulette ball. I'd also consider seeing if your ball could contribute to maybe taking a few hundred off of your short irons if they zip back. Tour BX has been brilliant for me in that regard, but we all know this stuff is individual. Maybe the Left Dash does the same?

Either way, enjoy the journey. 🙂

RogueST 9@11º 3D (ADDI 6X), 425 3w 14.5º (TourX), 430 3h 19º & 4 iCross (HZRDUS Red 6.0), i230 5-U, G4 54º, GFP 59º (DART105F4). 2021 Fetch (BGT Tour Black).

"Golf is just a dance with a stick, and a ball tells you how good a dancer you are."  LCP150mm in your fairway should be a full-time rule.

Hit the i230 (again) today during practice at Golftec...LZ 6.0 shaft.  My spin averaged around 6500 with a 7 iron.  Shots seemed to be going further today - still a tad short averaging 165 carry.  I bet with a power spec, I will be 170-175 on average, which I can live with...hopefully gain some more as my swing becomes more efficient this year.

$42 obans...drool.  What a steal of an upcharge.  Those are beauties.

Side note: not to thread jack, but how do you like your vessel?  I have a mizuno 14 stand bag now and its trash...the legs barely activate (and never have)...bag tips over constantly.  Club tangle is madness as well...I need something like a Titleist bag where those legs kick...and wide.  Just don't want to be a walking billboard.

The obans are a steal and they are money.

As for the Vessel. I have the Lux Cart bag and love it. I use it on a push cart most of the time. My only complaint for it is that it has 14 spots plus the putter well which always makes me wonder how is should put 13 clubs in 14 spots because my putter goes in the well. Small complaint really.

Currently have a blended set of 4/5 T200 and 6-PW T100S. I have been very happy with these clubs, but i230s have me tempted for a little extra forgiveness and sole length. Trying to talk myself out of it. Guess I need to really bring in my 5 iron and 7 iron and compare.

And... I ordered a set 4-PW, Power Spec, Green Dot with Nippon 105 Tour S.

I tested my T100s 7iron and T200 5 iron against i230. Was getting similar distance and tighter dispersion with both and that was standard spec. Went with Power Spec as I think it will work better for my gapping an Nippon tends to be a bit higher launch as compared to DG 105 I tested.

Now play the waiting game but think this set may be one I have for a long time...

Great point - Im gonna start messing with playing partners and ask, 'What loft did you hit?'

If I didn't have so many sets, I'd seriously consider having the club numbers soldered in a refinish, and stamped with the loft.  In roman numerals.

Roman numerals could be a bit extra 😂 I don’t talk clubs or lofts with playing partners. I just say I played my 155 club etc….

What’s the difference between the i230s and the i525s? Is it only the loft or does the i525 pack in some additional forgiveness?

Big difference between these 2…. I525 is players distance. Hot off the face and go long with lower spin. The 525 is all about distance…. The i230 is all about consistency.

you can easily power spec the i230… they get high and spin enough…

feel will be night and day… the 230 will be more muted and softer feeling …. If feel is a big deal for you, i230 all day.

Quick question, are the stock house brand graphite UST shafts? I know early on a couple of folks got the Recoil dart (or are waiting for the recoil dart) maybe I missed the reviews of them but any thoughts?

Son of a gun. Received my sticks today. Ordered on 2/15. I ordered standard golf Pride white golf MCC with 2 additional wraps.

Darn things showed up with midsize. Paid almost $90 extra for those. Might as well make it right.

Shipping them back to TGW.com.

Got fit this weekend and I'm very likely going i230's for the year. Fit was std length and lie, 1 weak with Oban CT125x 4-PW. Gained 8 yards carry over my current set up (T100 PX LZ 6.5) without losing anything on peak height, and I feel that the thicker sole will help me because I am a little steep right now.

My only hesitation is if we get another summer of literally 0 rain. Last year the fairways turned into bowling allies and the T100 were nice for helping get into and out of the firmer lie. I worry the 230's will bounce if that happens.

Had my first rounds on grass with the i230’s last week down in FL and all I have to say is WOW. Coming from i500 the difference is consistency, feel, and spin exceeded my already lofty expectations. Had plenty of thin strikes and even hitting the bottom grooves, these things went straight, high, and as far as I wanted. Bounce was just right even power spec’d and I’m glad I upgraded to Project X IO. Match made in heaven and excited to experience that flushed feeling for many more swings.

no worries, you're down to 9 months having to live with that set of i230.

Took mine to the golf course with "real"/summer greens on the weekend and they delivered every bit of performance they were promising. Greens are soft-ish and not mown super tight right now, but they definitely come in way softer than my old irons, especially 6i - 4i.

Consistency is definetely a joke, I had some shots going pin high that didnt deserve to even hit the green =D

Into some greens I hit multiple shots and I can confidently say that these are the closest to Point-and-shoot as I've ever had in my life. Toe, thin, heel, slightly fat. You name it - these still put the ball in an acceptable radius around the hole.

4i is still the most impressive, it just wants to go up

Hate you all. Each and everyone of you. Supposed to be 75*. Course closed but open to walkers. Sticks arrived Saturday morning. But instead I’m off to FedEx to send them back for the correct sized grips.
