A lot of useless banter here gents. Lets face it..the DPTour is a feeder for the PGATour, and the PGATour has become the feeder for the LIV Tour😂

Where did Chase come from?  To be more specific what tour did Chase K come from?  Who fed him to Liv?

Follow the criteria outlined by the OWGR for being approved to receive them and be patient. Applications are not approved overnight. One to two years is the norm waiting time for approval.

LIV no longer has to dumpster dive for talent.  No more Jed Morgan, Chase Koepka, Sihwan Kim of the world.  I'm not sure how the promoted guys will do but at least they earned their way onto the tour. Next step is to get rid of the washed up guys like Kaymer and Westwood. Dickie Bland is not going anywhere though, he's in his prime 😂

LIV know that....Hovland  got thrown an offer, thought about it and said no. Hovland got thrown a bigger offer, liked it...but... now Hovland has been shown what no golfer could ever make on the PGAT......interesting times..........

Too true, the best DP World Tour guys have cards on the PGA Tour this year, many of the top PGA guys are playing LIV. I don't watch LIV, but I am also watching a lot less DP and PGA - in Australia Sunday night is the final round usually of a DP Tour event, used to be good, its well and truly lost its gloss most weeks now.

PGA administrators can talk about investments and partnerships all they like, they are on the wrong side of the track. More players will go to LIV, diluting all else further At least now at LIV events you know top golfers are guys playing. I can't say that for the WM this week, or whatever the DP tour event may be!

 I'm pretty sure that no PGA guys are playing on Liv.  Some former players have gone to Liv but nobody watches them anymore, it's a known issue for golfers who go to Liv.  It's so bad that they lose sponsors because the sponsors don't want to be associated with it.

 

Great for you being able to watch golf on Sunday, I thought I was one of the few who doesn't watch the Super Bowl anymore.  I much prefer Waste Management to the SB.  Love me some PGA golf!

The statement you bolded is objective fact. The live audience is a tiny fraction of the eyeballs Rahm etc previously got.

This statement is a fact, for now.  The one I bolded before is most definitely not. The fact is, LIV keeps gaining market-share and eyeballs each tournament that passes.  You missed a hell of a broadcast on Sunday, the golf was top notch and so was the production.  The guys in contention got more air time than they would have in a PGA event.  Besides, the average PGA event's viewership has dropped every years for many years in a row. It is what it is, you are missing out on amazing golf and wasting your own time crying about it on here like so many others who live with misplaced hate.  The rest of us are enjoying the ride and celebrating the game of golf winning

The "fact" is LIV keeps gaining market share and eyeballs? Where do you get your facts from? They didnt sellout one day in Mexico. They were a 200k-300k view channel on youtube and those numbers are about the same on the CW from the one time they showed the ratings. Show us your facts

If you are a golfer, you should be happy for what LIV has done to the game of golf. 

PGATour is out of sync and outdated with their broadcasts and what not. Sure, if youre 70 years old you might like all the commercials and still photos, while they sit and talk with old farts in the studio.

But if you have grown up with video on demand and don`t want to sit infront of a TV all day long, you will have switched to LIV broadcast and enjoyed the action.

Most people watch on the LIV app, I would imagine.  I can't see why you would watch anywhere else, since it is free and casts right to any screen you want.

 

They had 90k people in attendance in Australia. Mexico is a place many are avoiding due to the horrific crimes that have been happening, so I don't put much stock into that. You don't want them to gain eyeballs and marketshare but that does not make it true.  No matter how many hissy fits you throw, what's happening is happening

Absolutely right!  Anyone who disagrees has problems with themselves, not with LIV.  The product is good and getting better, plus what they are doing for the game is great!

There's a reason LIV can deliver its content with so few commercials. You're naive if you don't understand how and why. LIV is not a sustainable business model.

On demand is horrible for advertising revenue. You need events that people watch live. That’s a challenge for the LIV “it’s just shots and more shots” appeal to some.

 

Golf is an extremely boring sport for most people to play and even more boring for most to watch. Nothing LIV does can change that. 
 

You need viewers with the patience to “sit in front of the TV all day”, or for 2-3 hours anyway, to capture the 💰 potential that the pga tours high end advertisers covet (financial services, luxury cars, business consulting) 

 

This is proven to be done by the pga tours model to the tune of 1.5 billion/year in revenue. Because a golf tournament, like any other sports event, has a story. A beginning, the cadence and drama of the day, and an end. 
 

People set aside 2-3 hours to watch their teams play soccer, football, basketball. Live. Thats where the money is for advertisers, that’s the huge appeal for networks/media, live sports makes money vs on-demand viewed programming. 

 

Of course it’s all moot if LiV has no plans to ever actually make money lol

Nothing negative about the comment ‘don’t agree’. I am doing something positive. I’m having a cup of coffee. I watched the last few holes of the LIV tournament. More than I have watched so far. Compared to the very first time I watched a few holes back when LIV first started, I do still think the fast pace of coverage does lack continuity. I do like hole flyovers. The announcing is a bit overboard. I don’t dislike the format as much as I dislike how LIV was created — by paying non realistic prices for players, the best of which were poached from the PGA Tour. The only thing LIV has going for it is a bottomless pit of money. LIV would absolutely not survive long-term if it had to follow the basic principles of economics.

I find it odd people support a monarch’s business strategy of ‘we will destroy what you have created unless you give us a piece of the action’. That’s where we are. I say to heck with them. Rahm clearly showed that a person will lie, and lie some more for the right dollar amount.  His new ‘reasoning’ is he grew up playing team golf, it’s what he loves, and that’s a primary reason he went to LIV. What a load of nonsense. LIV has perfected player propaganda.

Like I keep saying, these guys don't want to play the liv exhibition. It takes a massive, ridiculous amount of money to get them to join.
