2023 Ping bags

Checked the website earlier and nothing new so far.

 

They have GOT to come out with some new colors - last year's were absolutely horrible.

After getting a remote cart, I think I am finally ditching the carry bag and moving to a cart bag. I checked out the Pioneer/Traverse/DLX and they are really nice but have a few fatal flaws that I am hoping they fix with a new lineup.

 

Off the top of my head, I really hope they incorporate magnets like Vessel does. Also, I have no idea why they decide to put a tiny little flap on the front pocket for the DLX. The cheaper Pioneer has a proper handle/latch but not the DLX. Weird decision there.

I have a Pioneer and it's been great. I use it in an MGI X1.

just got an email on the new tropic 2023 ping hoofer lite, looks like this might be the new design of the hoofer lite.

Saw this as well.  Doesn't look it too much of a change, just some very minor tweaks.  Looks like I'll be keeping my 2021 heathered grey/navy/scarlet for a couple more years until the next redesign.

Yea, looks like they put the Ping logo in same location as the 2018/19 bags. I like the change of the rangefinder/ball pocket.
 

We haven’t seen the full color bags so not sure if they are putting any designs on it like the 18/19 bags.

Agreed.  Also, looks like there may be a magnetic pocket on the apparel pocket side where the "Hoofer Lite" is.  A lot of people would like that for a rangefinder, but it could be the valuables pocket.  I keep my Phantom GPS in my pocket so that wouldn't appeal to me.  I like where the valuables pocket is on the 2021-2022 models as it's kind of hidden.

After having owned the current model Hoofer Lite in solid black that has white zippers and accents, I'll never get one that has those again.  They get way too grimy and you can't really clean them.

Yeah, I guess they have to build in a reason for you to replace your Hoofer more than once a decade.

 

They're only going to fool consumers once that way though. The white zippers and dividers on non-white bags have got to go.

Patience, folks. I just saw photos of the new colorways at the Ping shop. There are definitely new and more options that are much better across the board in all the ranges. Releases likely next week.

Great news.   Are there new color options in the Craz-E-Lite or just Hoofer and Hoofer Lite?

I had a CEL for about half of last year and while I really liked the looks of it and it seemed to be the perfect bag on the surface, the quality and durability just were not there.  Clubs ripped holes in the really cheap dividers. Ping's customer service is fantastic and they gave me full credit fortunately. 
Unless the quality has been addressed with a new model, I definitely would not recommend.

Hopefully Ping does address this, I’m sure they got tons of warranty claims. The reviews on the Ping website stopped me from getting one of these last year.

While I very much appreciate the premium cost of the CEL and now that impacts expectations, we as golfers have to understand trade offs.  A 2.7 pound bag will not have the same durability as a 5 pound.  If you think they should, make one, I will buy it.

In a trade for increased durability, I would love to see Ping come out with a structured ultra-light bag with those shorter flip out legs like on the Mizuno BR-D2, Callaway Par 3, or Taylormade Quiver.  Or even the static ones from the Titleist Premium Carry.  Fewer moving parts and less opportunity for tangle while still sitting above the dew.

They updated the CEL without announcing it as a new version… I had the original and Ping replaced it with the newer version after the strap, liners, and legs all went to siht on me.

I had the new orange colorway so I would think that's one of the new models and that bag was still trash.

Best indicator is when you purchased. My first one was purchased right as it came out.

 

If your straps look like this with the see through portion, it was from the failed version…

so I heard from Ping that they have no immediate plans to release any new colors or designs in the immediate future. Someone in another thread mentioned a June release their Ping rep told them because they have so much inventory still of the current line. Hope it's not true but lines up with what he said.
