Negative on the rear shot but it looks identical to all the other unreleased spider pics floating around.

I have not seen any unreleased spider pictures that show the product I’ve been referring to, although we did review and play around with the Spiders in question.

I think I may have gotten a peak. I won’t be the one to spill the beens. But if it is what you’re referring to it’s a pretty interesting concept for a putter.  Not something I’d have thought of that’s for sure.

Was just about to come in here and mention this. I saw it at like 4am this morning and thought it was a dream or something. I guess it wasnt, but who knows if this is actually real???

Very interesting. I remember when the Odyssey Metal X Milled came out there was talks of Phil testing heavier and lighter weights in the heel and toe. However, this messed with the CG. I wonder if having equal weight on both sides but moving them forward/back will mess with CG as well.

Game changer for some people thats for sure but meh....never been the biggest fan of open/split back putters nor do I care to really spend all the time moving weights around. It would drive me nuts looking down at a putter that didnt have the wing weights symmetrical to one another (eg Left all the way back and right all the way forward). At that point something's kinda off with your stroke.

 

I'll stick with my Spider X and my Spider Ex as both have been rock stars. Bring a Short Slant Hydroblast X to the US market and you can take me money. Other than, Im totally content.

You won't see them putting though? So if it improves your game why would it matter? I think too many people put stock in the the color of things, or especially the look of the bottom when you don't even see most at address/while playing.

 

Just playing devil's advocate. There's 6 inches of fresh snow on the ground here in SW Ontario and I don't get to play outdoors until April, so I have a little fun somehow.

Oh I can see a good chunk of people using these with success. It may work for me, it may not.  I just know for me personally, I cant play a club that doesnt have appeal when I look at it at address.

 

Think of it this way....No matter how comfortable a set of Crocs may be, I wont ever wear a pair cause they look goofy. And Im from the home of Crocs here in Colorado 😆

I think this looks awesome personally! Combines the alignment of Spider X that I love with clean Odyssey 7-style fangs.

 

I’ll be interested to see what sort of fitting instructions are available with this model…if there’s a way to dial in the weight settings easily, it could be a winner.

Although possible, not really the intended use for any adjustability. Not sure where the screenshot was pulled from, but I think a lot of that stuff will make more sense when the full details are released. 
 

Also, not the most flattering picture. Part of insight we received from BP was that players felt like some of the changes in the GT line “didn’t look like a Spider”, so I think most of us coming from an X/EX will be excited to see the footprint at address.

Hopefully the explanation of the tech makes sense. Could see mediocre to bad putting OCD golfers adjusting settings after every round like the guy changing the loft sleeve on his driver after every missed shot.

I have a pair of camo Crocs that everyone in my family makes fun of. Going to a pool or the beach they can't be beat. We now return you to your regularly scheduled thread.
