I had simply heard from someone fairly in the “know” that one of the large companies was trying to sign her….figured it was Callaway or TM

She used to play a few Callaway clubs but I dont think anything from TM. Wonder if Callaway will try and throw money at her.

Surprised to see she lofts up on the 4wood...so playing it at 17.25.  She must really hit it long to not only go with a 4 wood after driver but loft it up as well.

Given her length off the tee, she hits 4w more than driver on most LPGA course setups.  It's all about proper gapping.

I would be very surprised to see her make a switch.  Spoke to some folks last week.  She's prevalent in the Titleist marketing plan for 2023 rollouts.

Does it means that, although close to a 5iron loft, this will play closer to a 4iron yardage with a different flight?

After looking at Nelly's bag on golfwrx, I configured my bag the same way.

The 5 hybrid plays 10 yards longer than the 5 iron.

The 5 hybrid, for me filled the yardage gap between the 7 wood and the 5 iron.

About 18 months ago I decided to take some cues from N Korda in building my top of bag.

- Forgiving, non “tour model” driver head.
- 4 wood as my first metalwood.

2 months ago I took out my 4 iron and went with a 4h… I’ve been reluctant to use it though, even though I ordered a tour issue head to know the exact loft, I feel as it has a bit too much distance compared to my 4i, so it looks like I’ll be experimenting with another Nelly club, the 5h in place of the 4i.

I am thinking the same.

I have generally had a bag which is influenced by either Annika’s or now Nelly’s: driver, 4 wood, 7 wood and then 4 hybrid.  I would be interested to try the 5 hybrid instead of 4 as well.  Need to get on a monitor to check my gapping!

As I said in an earlier post, Nelly (and Jessica actually) had some great mixed bags in the past. The Vokey wedges have been a constant.  She also had Titleist irons before moving across but she was playing Callaway woods as recently as the Mavrik.  And yes, I did have the Mavrik driver, 4 wood and 7 wood combination at the same time!  I think at one stage one of the sisters had PXG irons as well.

Titleist TSi1 10 degree driver

TM Stealth 4 and 7 woods
M6 hybrid
PXG 0211 irons (5 to G)
Vokey 54 D grind 58 D grind

TM Tour Response balls

Building on some of the comments above, her bag is a great reality check for most male golfers.  Strike aside (any LPGA pro will crush nearly everyone else on the planet), she's swinging faster than a typical player.  And the lowest lofted iron is 27 degrees.

I've played 4W and 7W for years, still using a 25-degree iron.  Not sure why all of the time.

I do think the higher lofted woods and hybrids have changed in the recent times.  10+ years ago, a lot of these (either fairway or hybrid) north of 20 degrees just spun a lot, even for moderate swing speeds.  Now, all of these are designed to just fly high and straight.  If you like that..

Interesting she’s using the TSR1. I tested the TSI1 and picked up some swing speed but didn’t really see the distance gains. Maybe something I need to revisit once the TSR1 is officially released.

I have the same hybrid setup. I have found the 5 hybrid to be a great option and more consistent than a 4 hybrid. A 9 wood is a better fit for me to replace the 4 iron.

She’s got a beautiful swing. If I could mirror any pros swing it would be hers.

Is Nelly actually playing Titleist Irons this week?  These don’t look like her normal irons, or am I smoking something?

**Edit** Yes, I’m implying these look like 770’s…

Based on gettyimages she's playing a P770 5 iron, but she also has her 2019 T100s.

So maybe just wanted a bit more height with her 5 iron compared to the T100, strange she didn't go T200 though.

"These", it's one club!

She has an 11 club contract with Titleist, so with the Ping hybrid and this club means she has 12 Titleist clubs in the bag.

Greg

haha sorry Greg. I was not aware and I’ve seen a few rumors of TM going after her. Interesting about the 11 club deal. I had no idea! Thanks for the clarification!

I have no idea if TM or anyone else is going after her and no idea if her contract is up.

Don’t worry about which club it is, 4h or 5h for example, just hit the yardage gap you want

for me, the 5h in so much easier from the rough than a 5i

She tried a T200 4i prior to the ping 5h when she began with Titleist but she kicked the t200 out in favor of the ping 5h. Seems she didnt like the t200 as a whole.

Still with the original T100. Her and Willy Z have helped me not want to move into the newer model. If Pro's are still playing them, they they must still be worthy of a spot in my bag haha.

More than just those two.  Sung Jae Im, Nelly, Jessica, Willy Z, Russell Henley, Davis Riley, Scott Stallings, just to name a few still game the 2019 version.

Wonder if she moved to the GT to combat higher spin in the new TSr1 vs the TSi1. She had stiff handle shafts in her woods like the Tensei Blue and Ventus Red so moving to a stiff handle in the driver makes sense especially if they needed to shave some spin off with the TSr1 move. But sad to see the IZ go from another pro's bag.

Shoulda seen her TSi1 driver before the switch to the TSr here.

I remember seeing a video a while ago where she talked about her initial fitting at Titleist in California when she went on board with them and it was something along the lines of her just hitting is so insanely straight every single time and thats all she needed - and then won with it the following week - so it never left the bag.

No hi tech analysis needed... aha...in the fairway..aha..Won...aha...umm ok. Impact Wear pics greatly appreciated🙂 Merry Xmas😇
