Cheat code for the irons if you want max MOI, 626.  Been messing with this combo, also just fit a Latin American Tour player and he was shocked at what he saw.  1.5* increase in LA and 400rpm increase in spin.

Weights kits can be ordered in packs of 8 or solo.

Is 2 - 2 gram 1 - 6 gram the standard?

2-8-2 is stock.  2g weights are considered dummy weights

Feels great, more mass behind impact for heel and toe misses for the guy that misses both sides of center or just wants max MOI

Now you got me thinking which is never good.  Wonder what 8-2-8 would be like.  Hmmmmm

Really good as well and even higher MOI.  Just have to be careful with swing weight based on the shaft you are playing.

Understand.  Figure if this doesn't work I can go the opposite direction 2-0-2.  Those to drastically different weights should give me a good idea.  Usually do best with something around D2-D3.  Because of the midsize grips, I believe they came in at D0.

I just scored SMS Pro 3-PW plus 52 and 60 wedges on eBay, all with SF i110cw Stiff ( though I don’t game 3i and 4i ).  My normal go-to shaft is the i95cw Regular, but I’m also good with the i110cw having had several sets of them over the years.

I do my own club building with very short length increments in an MOI build.  I use a combo of heavy tip weights along with metal ferrules and even lead tape when called for.

With the SMS, rather than me dealing with all that extra weight at the hosel in my builds, I’m going to order a bunch of extra SMS weights and see how it works out that way, by spreading the weight out across the head.  And also to test out various weighting methods of heel-mid-toe.  I might just put away the swing-weight scale and Auditor  MOI measuring device and build each club by feel.  👍

Do the SMS pro irons feel as soft as the SMS wedges ? I picked up a nearly brand new T Grind 52 at Roger Dunn in the used barrel and my goodness. The softest, smoothest iron/wedge I’ve ever hit. Phenomenal feel.. 🏆 To bad I stripped out the 8g weight fooling around too much 🤣 That’ll be a project getting that sucker out.

SMS Pro irons are as soft as butter.  The wedges are solid forged so yes they feel great as well!

Just had my first several rounds in with my combo set. I absolutely love the shape and the feel is just about as soft as anything I’ve played. Still dialing in distances and working on my swing but I’m very impressed!!

They just get better and better.  Just fired a -7 (67) with my combo set :partytime2:

Hey all. Looking for more forgiveness than my Miura MB 101 irons. I’m having a hard time making the jump from the brand but these are very intriguing. What’s been everyone’s experiences as far as feel quality etc. I love my miuras but I think the blades are hurting me now that I don’t play as much. I’m mostly concerned with looks so I’ll have to see them but wasn’t sure what everyone’s experience has been with Edel. Thanks

I have the SMS, not Pros.  Absolutely no regrets.  I'm coming from the PXG Gen 2 irons (P) and Cobra Z Fly MBs before that.  Even the non-Pros have a slimmer profile than most irons today.   Distances are not jacked up and still have to put a good swing on them.  They are more forgiving than a traditional blade and feel is great.  Biggest advantage is movable weights.  Not only dial in the position, but ability to order the exact weight to get the SW and feel like you want.  Good luck

Awesome! Thanks for the insight. I’m not looking for a ton of help just need a bit of playability especially in the long irons. Just humbled and time for an ego check

Understand.  They have forgiveness over a traditional blade.  I loved the Cobra MBs, but if you miss hit them you would be well short.  Not so much with these, but not for someone who its it all over the face.  Even the longer irons are easy to hit.  Consider a blended set.  I did a review of the regular SMS irons on here.  There are some pics that show the regular SMS vs Ping and Titleist.  @J13can give you more details how the topline of the SMS and SMS Pro compare.

That’s great to hear. This SMS don’t look bad. A little thick on top but thinking the pros will be better. Thanks again! Glad to hear they are good and not just a bunch of unfounded claims.

I’ve played Miura MC-501 and BB. You just can’t compare the feel of a Miura to anything, it’s just that good. But like you said I was needing a bit more help- forgiveness, in my sticks. I don’t get the time to play and practice like I would like, so I’ve played the Srixons ZX7s for the last few years up until I got my SMS combo set. The Edel’s are very good!! The size and shape of the pro’s are spot on, a little boxy and squared. The forgiveness is there, quite a bit more that the MC and BB in the Miuras. I do think the weight ports do help especially with my left miss. I went 4-5 in the SMS and 6-PW in the pros.  One of the better feeling sticks I’ve hit in awhile.

This is awesome to hear. That’s a very similar setup to what I was thinking. It sounds like it’ll be a lot of help just coming from such a hard club to hit.

$250 per club ( and free shipping ) is not that bad IMO.  It is a forged and milled club, with a unique fitting system, and no-upcharge shafts like Steelfibers and Tour Issue X100 / S400.  And the fact that the weight adjustment can be done by the user, not just the factory ( Ping, PXG ) is a great bonus.  Oh, and the weights are cheap.  Heck, I think they might be underpriced.

I agree and disagree.

I think they are fairly priced for such a unique club. What I think makes them overpriced is the unknown. They are every hard to find and try. Miura are more but have been tried and tested and proven to be on top. That’s the biggest difference. Proven quality vs potential and I feel it’s hard to charge for potential.

That said I don’t think they are ridiculous

( I am still waiting for my friend to shuttle up my SMS Pro set )

Are the weights ( 2g or 8g ) made of the same material -> the 2g is merely shorter than say an 8g ?  As I think about what extra weights to possibly order, is there room in a hole for the 2g AND to stuff in some lead tape to make it a 4g / 6g, etc ?   I assume I could do the same with a 8g to make it a 10g ?
