Thanks.  I wish I could blame my play on the weather, but other than the light shower (heavy drizzle?) for the first couple holes, it was on-and-off for the next 10-or-so with the wind never getting above about 10 mph and even that wasn't constant.  Lots of soggy fairways and since it was cart path only, most of the groups walked - it's basically a flat course anyhow.  

 

 

It's a par 72 course with 5 par-5's and 5 par-3's.  My drives were in the middle of the fairway on all of the par-5's and yet I still ended up +6 overall on those 5 holes.  Ugh.  Since I have nothing else to say about the round, I'll post the following to illustrate what's been going on around the area with all the rain and wind events.  At least it didn't happen while we were playing.

Glad you got out and played even though things looked mighty wet. How high were the winds to topple the trees? 

 

It is my hope that when warm golf weather returns for all Lounger's that they too will feel comfortable sharing some words and photos from their latest round.

I'm not looking back over numerous pages to see what happened as I have had a very busy weekend at work and I am worn out.  Just let me say that scomac is a valued founding member of the Lounge, a friend of mine, and he was one of the very first guys from the other place to join this group. If some of you believe he left this afternoon with a sour taste in his mouth please DO MORE than just post something here.  PM him with an apology please.
 

DO KNOW that I didn't start this place as any sort of competition to the Grille.

I welcomed any of the Grille boys to come and play in the Lounge from the git go and I stated that in my first Lounge post.  I want them to feel welcomed and not be jokingly harassed.

scomac made a joke that he’d see us all after the march madness tourney, so we were having fun back. 

 

everyone here is a grown up and wears big boy pants. if anything said gets someone’s nose out of joint, then i’m sure a personal message will be sent to straighten things out. 

 

i didn’t sense any hostility whatsoever, so no need to issue a psa.

As TiScape mentioned, there were quite a few more fallen trees at the course just a couple days ago.   The last wind event was this past Tuesday and I think there were sustained winds over 50 mph, which doesn't seem too bad in itself, but the ground is so saturated, trees are falling everywhere.  The wind may have been even stronger at this course as it borders bay wetlands.

 

Here's a power pole that basically snapped in half about 2 blocks from my house last Tuesday.  They put out a shelter-in-place order for the residents on the street because it created a domino effect which messed up about 5 other on each side.   One of my friends took the photo.  I don't think I posted this here before.  I didn't have the chance to go to the intersection today, but as of yesterday, the traffic lights next to the pole were still blinking red.

If that was the case then I am happy CS. I am tired and as I said I did not got back and read all the posts, but I do feel there WAS A NEED for my PSA.   There have been jabs (yes comical, but still) at the Grille more than once this week. I am on top of our thread and will address anything that I see as crooked play. 

 

I ran into a couple of founders of the Grille after 6 months in the joint that made me feel uncomfortable and that is why I left and started the Lounge.  I will do EVERYTHING in my power as the host of this place to make sure none of that nonsense happens here.  So I hope my PSA sent that message regardless of anyone today being guilty of an impolite offense.

I was at the DR Tuesday and all the garbage cans were blown into the range and my plastic tray that holds the balls (full of balls) caught a gust, blew up off the ground, was airborne and hit my club and then my leg. The balls went everywhere. It was crazy. By far the windiest I’ve seen it here 🌬️

It def wasn’t at the grille. If he was from the grille, I can assure you ppl don’t know that and it had nothing to do with it. He simply said he wasn’t a basketball fan. Then Miami was joking about how boring basketball is. I joked that the lounge was throwing a NCAA bball party so perhaps they would be better off talking about trucks and antique golf clubs. Total joke and like CS said, harmless tongue in cheek. Typical WRX good natured stuff we have all seen here. I am well aware of the numerous Lounger's that have been chiming in with how they find basketball boring TS. That's cool and we aren't really talking about that. 

 

It was the truck driving jabs, the lead tape jabs, the dang tourist jabs, and the antique club jabs.  They happened more that once this week TS and I didn't find them harmless and delivered tongue and cheek one bit. That stuff stops now please. 

 

Everyone has gotten my message tonight I hope.
