... I think for most there is a sweet spot for distance and accuracy. Of course those that are very accurate always want more distance and those with a ton distance want more accuracy. A long hitting friend of mine was in town and playing with one of my regular pards is a good illustration of distance and trouble. 

Chris is 80 and long for his age. Gets it out there 190 and sometimes 200 with his driver. He is almost never in trouble off the tee simply because he can't reach the trouble.

I just turned 70 and hit it 250-260 and don't get into trouble often (unless I hit a really wayward drive) yet there are a few holes where I can hit it on the exact same line as Chris even hitting the fairway but be in the desert. One short par 5 is a dogleg left with a huge bunker guarding the corner. Down the middle is great and just favoring the right side is good too but right edge of the fairway and you run through the dogleg and into the desert. 

CJ hits it 290-310 off the tee and on the exact same line as Chris and I, found himself in trouble quite a few times, Still hitting the edge of the fairway or just in the rough carrying it another 40 yds than I do, he found trees and brush that isn't in play for  me. On that same dogleg par 5 even right middle will put him in the desert at around 290. His fairway is 50% tighter than mine and 90% tighter than Chris. 

... Obviously hitting it long can be a big advantage but only if you are more accurate than a shorter and even mid length player. The room for error is just so much smaller on many courses. If I could dream dial in distance and accuracy in a real world scenario I think right around 280 would be ideal. Long enough to reach most par 5's in two and have shorter irons into par 4's but not long enough to bring trouble into play with a good tee shot.

Ribs are smoked DMM. I’m constantly switching up rubs and times/temps. These were coated in olive oil and a dry rub of salt, pepper and smoked paprika was applied b4 smoking. 3hrs in the smoke, wrapped in foil with a mixture of half ACV/BBQ sauce for about 1.5hrs, unwrapped and back in for ~40min.

SMC is a super small school and the bball team is mostly like a bunch of whites guys from Australia! So it’s hard to root against em when they playin some big time school w/4 n 5 star recruits. But I get the ‘tease the buddy’ deal.
