Maybe.  But I plan on having my handicap in the + range again when I game this putter.  Plus it could get hyped again with more wins or Ryder Cup performance.  Who knows

I don’t think it’s hated.  I’ll definitely roll one when I come across it in a shop again.

 

I do think people are vocally disputing some of the hyperbole and logic people are using to associate this putter to tour wins. 
 

in the end it doesn’t matter.  We are all adults that earn our money and can spend it however the heck we want.

Go check out Brian Harmons fed ex WITB.  His putter gets a lot of hate and it’s responsible for the most dominate putting performance in a major I’ve seen in the last few years.  Something like one missed putt out 60 under 10 feet for the tourney.  Has to be some kind of record.

Suddenly it seems like every old Bird putter becomes a Jailbird when someone decides to sell it. Maybe it's a generation gap issue and people don't understand the connection between the black and white stripes and a "jailbird."

 

Years ago when someone was put in jail they'd be dressed in horizontal black and white stripes. This made them stand out against the vertical bars on the jail cell. 

 

Think of the Get Out of Jail Free card on Monopoly. That guy's a jailbird. He's wearing black and white stripes. 

 

In my book, if it doesn't have the black and white stripes it's not a Jailbird. 

 

And that concludes the sermon for today.

Odyssey never named them "Bird" putters (7 Bird not included).  The Versa paint job is relatable to your "sermon", though people selling Jailbird putters are in fact selling Jailbirds.  Jailbirds come in Black, Red, and Versa colorways.

Welp, I have had PXG irons and a Versa Jailbird Micro combo for four months now, well it only became a vers(I painted it) 2 months ago, previously it was bare metal.

I will also say according to Arccos my putting has not been better in the two+ years I have been using Arccos, but that is with it bare metal and Versa both.  I am going to go and try to track down when I painted it and see if there is a change from bare to versa color scheme.

There it is!  New Jailbird with the updated weighting.  Not surprised as it is a tweak to the current releases.  I am buying if there is a CH version.

 

...and next year the market will normalize for the used ones.

This is likely the Rickie release.  They never showed the bottom of the putter in the marketing pictures.

I assume this is for the ones getting ready to be released.  Haven’t heard of any new models coming for 2024 as of yet.

That grip looks like the flatso grip? It was my understanding that it came with the zenergy tour 3.0, not the flatso 3.0. Hopefully they correct this and we dont have another Rahm release
