Agreed. Very interested in this release. Been playing sm9 but think I might give these a go.

Funny I was considering switching to SM9s after trying them out. Will have to hit these first.

Just tried the new MG4 wedge at a TM Fitting tent at Costa Mesa Golf Club. Got to test a 50,54,58 off the range but range balls for test. First thing I noticed these are much much softer on strike than MG3. The material metal even looks softer to the eye vs MG3. The wedges felt significantly more forgiving and the flight result was the same. Very consistent flight through any strike at it. I play off 2 handicap and was very surprised just how much improved over mg3. I liked mg3 but the 4 blows it away. The 50 degree on full swing was extremely good and consistent to yardage number front to back. I feel like TM outdid themselves on this wedge release and by far the best they’ve done to date my opinion. These have the deep feel of an SM9 but even more solid and full feeling on strike. Well done TM can’t wait to put them in the bag.

Were you able to test any of the newer grinds? If so which ones and how did you like them?

MG4s are up on TMs site now.

Maybe I am missing something, but if you get a custom wedge (ie. Raw finish) you get less grind options?  If that's the case then what a huge miss by TM.  Also kind of strange they don't really explain the new bounces, but again maybe I'm missing it.

I didn’t read through everything but I plan on getting a TW grind in the 56/60.

I just thought the same thing. Doesn’t make much sense to have less options in the custom wedges. Lol. Don’t even have all the grinds available for the regular wedges.

Yeah, I was badly disappointed in this.  I hate chrome finishes and wanted a specific grind.  I was ready to get a couple and am now looking elsewhere.

I have not decided on 50/52*, but I am interested in 56* & 60* TW Grind.

I just bought a 56/60 in the MG3 that will be in the bag for the rest of the year.  I’m going to order the 56/60 in the MG4 which will be in the bag once the 2024 season kicks off.  Club ho at heart😂

I know people get sick of hearing lefties complain about our limited options, but here I go anyway: It really doesn't make sense to me that TaylorMade is offering lefties four different lob wedge bounce/grind options but only one option for the sand wedges. I play a high-bounce sand wedge but can't get one in the new MG4 lineup. That's a bummer. I was ready to place my preorder today.

I know most people will just go to the YouTubers but I thought I'd put my thoughts here.

These feel incredible, just as good as an SM9. I was looking to Vokeys after I hit the 9s but not anymore. Just a perfect feel and look. Shaping is very similar to the previous generation, straight leading edge and sits close to the ground just how I like. (having a 48 is nice too) I agree with everyone else with the MyMG4 program, just an absolute miss with this wedge. I'd love to have these in a raw finish but is what it is I suppose.

As far as grinds go, the guy didn't have everything there but he described what he didn't have. The LB.08 has a leading edge grind now which is awesome. He said the LBV grind is similar to the Vokey V grind. The LB.09 he said is like the Morikawa grind. The LBV and the HBW grinds he said will be available later, don't remember exactly when. New Hi-Toes will be coming next year I believe, with the all popular ATV grind.

This will be my set, maybe TW 60, still not sure.

Few questions and comments from me

Q - Which grind is most similar to Vokey D grind?

Q - Can these be bent 2* safely?

Comments - Annoyed they don't offer the 'regular' high bounce in left hand. In my experience, anytime I see W next to a wedge, it's going to really want to bounce off the turf and I personally find low point control harder. Also, really annoyed the custom MyMG4 program doesn't have an all raw lefty or even copper version, and... only 3 lofts can be ordered? Total miss, at least compared to something like Wedgeworks.

Hopefully, they can listen to the people and provide more options for the My program. I know not all players will want it and it may seem like a select few, but I think the more options they provide, the more people will look to play these over other options.

I'm a fan of providing more bounce and grind options in standard chrome. I would have loved to see a copper finish offered as stock with all the grind options as well. I do like these.

Callaway Ai Smoke TD Max 9° - Denali Blue 60x

Callaway Ai Smoke TD 15° - Tensei Blue RAW 75x

Srixon ZX7 Mk II 4-6, Z Forged II 7-9 - PX LZ 6.0

Vokey SM9 46/50/54/58 - S200

Toulon Las Vegas H1 - Diamana P105

Titleist Pro V1

Are they not going to offer the black or raw finish other than in the MyMG4 program?  Huge miss bc the MyMG4 program doesn't offer all the loft/bounce options (like you guys already said) but it also doesn't offer all the shaft options.

For example, I play MMT 125TX in my wedges.  They don't offer that in the MyMG4 but they do if I customize the standard but then it's only chrome?  Crazy.

It feels like a botched or rushed launch to me. Maybe the website/ordering portion just needs to be updated over time because if not, what you've highlighted makes no sense.

I was super pumped for this launch but I'm much less so now.
