Ping Blueprint S irons (spotted in Austin Eckroat's bag) – 2023 Wyndham Championship

So basically a forged version of my faithful i210 and most likely they will cost twice the price of my i210. They do look nice and I am sure they will feel great, but performance wise I doubt any difference than my i210.

Yeah... I've bought new irons 3 years in a row and I really don't think iron performance is changing at all. A head shape you like combined with a proper fitting and you should be go to go for at least 5-6 years.

Well according to this Tour pro's comments on the main page, these are more like the S55 irons except slightly smaller and forged.  He also said that the distance and spin very consistent and maybe a little bit longer than the older irons.  Which is to be expected, the Blueprint "S" meaning size wise and playability like the older "S" series from Ping.  These are tour irons no doubt, I bet they are pretty compact in real life.  Not even close to the I230, totally different sole and size.

These Blueprint-S are smaller headed than people are assuming.  A lot of folks here are incorrectly aligning them with the i210..  These are the size of iBlades/s55.  The photo in the golf bag above shows them being only slightly larger than the Glide Forged wedges (which are tiny)

If they were big they'd be ugly, but recognizing them as a more compact players size, they are a bit more appealing.  Austin Eckroat played PING s55 irons until these came out.  He isn't moving to something the size of the i210.

...that being said, I hope the shiny area on the club is actual chrome instead of just a polished surface.  Chrome wears properly but steel simply polished to a mirror shine doesn't hold up and scars easily.  Remember the nasty TItleist AP1 "fake chrome" irons from 2011?  Not a good look!

I read that and they sure don't look smaller than my S55's.

Looks like a forged i Series iron to me.

Not that there is anything wrong with that, by any stretch.

Probably what the i59 release should of been, instead of what they shat the sheets with.

hahaha shat the sheets!!!

- Something that continues to go long off the tee in the fairway
- Something that is a fairway finder when needed and long
- Something that high, consistent and helps with par 5’s
-  Something to help with long par3’s and short par 4’s

-  Something metal, lots of them and go the gaps I need
- Something metal, 2x of them and helps me 120y and in
- Putters - limited rotation because I cannot afford misses

Golf is what you make of it.  Play grateful and accepting. We are all lucky to have it.

Rather than expecting lets all try and appreciate instead.

Why on earth are these called Blueprints?

I agree. I understand they labeled them blueprint “S” but they had a really cool niche with the original blueprint blades (my current gamers). Additionally, I think they really dropped the ball on the appearance aspects with these. IMO they could have done a lot better 😞

You can damn sure count on that!!  The new Cally's are $215 a club, so like other's have said in both of the BP threads, should be near $240/club, that wouldn't be a surprise.

Head reminds me of the E1 and back reminds me of the Anser. I really like the look of these. Can't wait to see them in person. I see a lot of Ping players moving to these. The 230's aren't really doing it.

Seems like the 230s are doing fine it’s the i59 that really dropped the ball
