I230 - clunky and slow

t150 - fast, surgical, smooth

Definite strength of the i230’s especially if you want a smidge of forgiveness. T150’s best for sub 5 hcp.

I would agree that t150 is going to want a good ball striker and sub 90 mphs club head speed, unless you weaken the lofts.

ping will hold up better to a higher swing speed, particularly in power spec.

Thanks - great to know. I have not tried either, but my fitting next month is indoor so turf interaction will be more of a guess. At 93-95 mph 7i and playing in an area with soft conditions, sounds like Ping may be more forgiving option through the turf.

Maybe, but the ping looks like a SGI iron in comparison. Fat soles and thiccc topline , I was not a fan

I couldn’t fall for the i230s. Little dead feeling to me. A little too big for my eye. Turf interaction wasn’t great.  Pxg 0317 cbs are loads better with that squared off toe look people love about pings.

This. Been great for me all year. I describe them as a ping iron but softer, thinner and better soles.

Its not even a contest.

In wet I can hammer it down -6 and still slip thru with ease. Not gonna happen with the Titleists.

Its all about conditions and swing, if its    dry I rather play less bounce to get it to bite down more like Titleist t100 usually does.

I had both. I loved the 150s. Turf interaction was great, forgiveness was more than enough but not up to 210/230 levels. I shot my PB at my new course with them. My biggest complaint about them was launch. They just did not hit the window I like and were a decent amount lower than the Pings. I found myself trying to lift them too many times. So now after my Titleist honeymoon, I have my 210s back in the bag.

Not really an issue from my perspective. More concerned with performance and fit tbh.

Ordered t150’s today, 4-gap. The feel was better than my i230s IMO. It was kind of a pop vs thud in the i230. Went with c-taper lights as well, perhaps that helped as the Pings were graphite shafts. Looking forward to them arriving ( I did order a 7i for comparison/testing).

I gamed the i230s with SF i95s in Regular, instead of Stiff (I thought I was being smart going from Stiff to Regular). I loved the launch numbers when I got fit, but as it turned out, I hit them way too high, and that's a no-go where I play. This was my 3rd attempt trying to get along with SFs. They always felt and looked better to me than alternatives and produced good numbers in fittings.  But for me, they were just less boring than the others.

IMHO, the T150s look better, feel better and when you're striking the ball well, forgiveness is not an issue (obviously). Are the i230s more forgiving? Probably, but the tradeoffs in looks, feel and trajectory weren't worth it for me.

I got lucky. When I was doing my research I stumbled onto the Axioms and a club builder I know and respect said, "yes, they're different, they're great, you need to try them..." I couldn't try them in any meaningful way, so I went blind with the Axiom 105s and the combination has been a game changer. If that's the reason behind my strong preference for the t150s (probably is), I don't care/I won't argue.

I am way beyond the honeymoon period with this setup and love them even more --and honestly, that never happens with me. For some final perspective, the i230 4 iron may have been my favorite club when I had them. And the T150 4 iron is definitely a favorite in my current bag. Easy to hit/launch/flight. I am not a great player by any means (my index just dipped below 7 for the first time in 2 years). FWIW, I would go all-in on T150s or the T200s. No need to hedge.

I just ordered T 150 6-pw modus 120 an going to use T200 4 an 5 iron ....GO STEELERS
