Driver with the best sound/feel?

Ping's original Rapture driver had a carbon top which produced a very pleasing muted sound at impact. I've heard that it was expensive to manufacture and for that reason the Rapture 2 did not include carbon material.

Ditto! I’ve been trying to replace it this month with something slightly lower spinning and narrowed down to Paradym 3D lofted higher than my Speed or the TSR3 but honestly that Speed is just a fantastic driver.

G400 or G430 LST for me…

 

But neither could beat out the G430 Max fairway finder at my tight home course this season. 
 

Doesn’t look/feel/sound as great, but consistently being in the fairway for my 2nd shot has been a game changer.

If you do end up experimenting with the Paradym or TSR, I 'd  love to know how they compare with the Epic Speed.  Those are the basically the two drivers/woods that I've also been curious about.  The price tag has prevented me from looking into it right now, but I wonder what all or how much I'm really "missing out" on by staying with the Epic Speed vs. going brand new.

Best sounding, depends on wether or not I’m wearing my hearing aids. 

Will say I’ve never heard on tv what I hear on the course.  They just cant capture the crack right.

I thought the Paradym was a great feeling driver and liked the sound, but got fitted for the TSR2 recently and it is the best feeling driver I’ve had in years. New T200s, which were the original purpose of the fitting, couldn’t knock my Apex 21s out of the bag.

I think it's the tsr2. I only swapped to the aerojet as I like it better at address (I got the palm tree crew one with the matte crown) sounds and feels pretty good too.

Best ever feel from a  metal driver was the Titleist 975d as I believe it was foam filled. Best modernish driver is the mizuno mp650

I have a 975j in my stockpile with a UST proforce shaft, in my specs and it feels aweful compared to my '16 callaway Fusion Big bertha.... shoot, even the Bombtech Grenade i had felt better... the 975j felt like swinging an empty soupcan....LOL

When you hit that Wilson Staff Tour Block 4300 right in the sweet spot, it's like no other feeling...

 

But seriously, I've had some great sounding and not so great sounding drivers. The sound has ZERO impact on my consideration of playing it, I'm more of a results guy - I guess it's my finance/MBA background where all that matters is the numbers at the end of the month/quarter/year.

 

And also - don't sleep on getting out there and playing with some wood woods every now and then - the feeling of a pure shot beats anything on the market today.

Titleist 910 D2. Best sound and feel of any driver I've ever owned. Too bad the tech has been so greatly improved in new drivers. Next might be the OG GBB Sub Zero

I've actually hit some drivers where after contact...I'm like...dang it...I missed that one bad.  But the ball still gets out way out there, and when I look at the face, the ball mark is maybe only a half inch left or right from dead center.  Anything a half inch higher than dead center sounds like I hit the ball with a frying pan, but it still performs within my expectations for that type of contact.

 

It really caught me off guard when I first hit it...but I quickly got over it as my driving is better than ever.

 

It's amazing when you middle it though. 

 

My neighbor still uses the F8 and that thing sounds great.

Nope, least not the one i have, didnt matter if it was out of the center or not...  much prefer the 2016 big bertha fusion thats in my bag.... just goes to ahow you how subjective feel/sound is on a club...what one person absolutely loves, another cant stand... i bet theres even a few people out here that love the feel/sound of the nike SQ....🤣

The answer is NOT the latest Ping offerings.

 

I've tried G400 LST, G425 Max & SFT... If you catch any of them off centre you end up waking up the entire neighborhood. Seriously wildlife just scatters. 

 

I sky'd the SFT that bad one time... I went in to a daze from the high pitch racket and was woken up 2 days later by a deer licking my face after I fell in to a ditch next to the tee box.

I've always loved the feel of titanium drivers more than the carbon ones. I loved the 909D, but TSR2 feels amazing.

You say "not the latest Ping offerings" but only mention having tried the 425.  The 430 is exponentially better in the sound and feel areas, it isn't even close.  If you haven't tried them, I'd suggest you don't sleep on them.

 

Therefore, my answer to this question is by far the G430 LST.  Feels like a marshmallow and sounds like a muted thud.  Pings drivers this year are phenomenal.  TSr, close second.
