Looking for more height than modus 105

I’m currently playing a set of 2021 p790s with modus 105 reg flex shafts.  For my next set I’m probably going with the p790 heads again but I’m looking to add a bit of height throughout the iron set.  What shafts should I start looking at to add height over the modus 105?  I’m still looking at reg flex and would like to stay around the same weight.

 

Of course I’ll hit some options, so I’m really looking for advise on what to try.

Maybe the KBS Tour Lite or the MT Max 85 that TM offers.  Depending on your distance, if you get enough, just have them bent a little weak and stay with the Modus 105.  You might sacrifice a few yards but the P790 are already rocket launchers.

I did a P790 fitting last week with pretty much every 95-120 gram shaft in the fitting kit. The highest was the KBS Tour Lite. The Tour Lite / P790 combination was exceptional from a distance and height perspective.

 

The C Taper Lite was also higher than the Modus 105 and had better/more feel than the Tour Lite.

I was considering having them just vent weak and sticking with the modus 105, but I figured I’d ask about other shaft options at the same time.  I’m not sure I can find a cart with a 1 degree weak head to hit though.

Axiom 75G I can't imagine in a regular these wouldn't launch a mile in the air.

I have the 2021 P790 / DG105 S setup. It is excellent when hit well. When hit off-center, the P790’s generically IMO try to maintain ball speed at the expense of height. If that’s what you’re seeing, I don’t know that having them bent will substantially change that. 
 

The Tour Lite was very easy to elevate, and their total distance was also very good. Maybe try/buy a single club before committing?

If you're already getting good face contact with the Modus 105 then just bend the P790s weak. Shaft will influence face contact and consistency. Lofts will influence height and spin.

I was in the same shaft before I did a Titliest fitting and I ended up in recoils, but did test the AMT and the Nippin Zylos.  I went a lot lighter because of back and shoulder injuries, but increased my height by 20-25 feet.

Maybe have one of your current irons bent weak and then test the change in launch/flight conditions with it? Depending on the location where testing is conducted, you could have it bent back after your testing session.

Nippon 950 GH or Nippon 950 NEO.

 

I prefer the NEO because the butt circumference of the 950 GH and a Tour Velvet grip came out too big for my smaller hands.  Both shafts hit the ball higher.

Except for most, it's not a good idea to sacrifice a good fit for shaft weight just for the sake of trying to manage trajectory.   Better to just bend the lofts.

I think that the OP said more height than Modus 105.  Nippon 950GH or NEO will provide more height.

It might or it might not - nothing is automatic when it comes to how shaft stiffness might effect the trajectory.  

 

But you're missing the point of my post.  Even if it does, more height wont help much if the accuracy and dispersion get screwed up because of the lighter shaft weight.

Nippon 1050 R seems to be the call.  Very similar profile to the Modus 105 R, weight is a little more, not much.  The 1050 has a softer tip, Billy Bobs Golf sells them:

Nippon makes a shaft for Titleist, the 105T.  They definitely launch higher than Modus.  Problem is, they only come on Titleist irons.

You're right.  Almost any 75-80g "R" shaft should hit moon balls.  But let's not overlook "A" flex shafts.  I've hit balls using old AP1 with Aldila NV 45 senior shafts; they be very high and straight.
