NOT disagreeing - just discussing.  Annika has monetized her image as well as any female golfer and would typically not let her image be used without compensation/recognition.  Why no just a picture of Will?....other than the fact she is a point of reference and no one would recognize him without her.

I'm not arguing with you either, I do think you have some valid points and I do certainly think that none of this guarantees Greyson, TM is a strong possibility.  I'm currently thinking chances are 45% Greyson, 40% TM, 15% other (or start his own brand, etc.).

There are also other Greyson connections.  Justin Thomas is obviously their biggest sponsored player and I believe he has equity too.  He and TW are obviously close.  Justin Timberlake is also one of the initial investors in Greyson, wears their product, and is already business partners with TW.

I like Greyson, probably have a total of 12 polos/pullovers from them. I just can't see Tiger in 95% of the clothing they make. Sure they can tone it down and get him into some solid color polos and it'd fine. Also, where are they getting the money to pay what Tiger would command? If they offer equity, great; but from Tiger's POV how much bigger can this company actually get configured how it is now?

He'd really only see a big payday if the company is sold or goes public. But given how this feels like a genuine passion project from the founders I can't imagine them just selling off their company or pivoting to try and capture more market share.

He was with Descente, a Japanese luxury brand. But they also just signed Xander, so I'm wondering if they had to make some room in the marketing budget since he's not a small fish?

I don't think that's necessarily it for a lot of folks, though it certainly is for some. 

 

I think the bigger benefit is Greyson creating new products for Tiger which is exciting. I dislike 70% of what Greyson puts out there, but I absolutely love the other 30%. I'm not a huge fan of the super deep button look, or button-down collars on golf polos, which rules out a lot of their polos for me, just personal preference. I can't see Tiger wearing that kind of stuff either, so I'm curious to see what the two could potentially come up with.

Same boat here.  Big Greyson fan and have a lot of their stuff.  Will never buy a button down collar golf polo, doesn't matter what the design is... just personally don't like them.

And the button down collar is what I love about them.  Kind of a unique look with function behind it.  Keeps the collar where I want it not curling up and flapping around after a few washes.
