This reminds of that one year Rory put a hybrid in the bag for like 3 days (....wouldn't you know it, right around launch...hmmm) and everyone on here went nuts and bought one and then it was out of Rory's bag before the tournament was over

Rory had a hybrid in the bag at the 21' ryder cup

And every year when DJ would play the more forgiving head in Hawaii (....hmmm, right around launch) and then immediately switch to the other head a week later

A lot of times these players that drastically bow their wrist, will normally look towards more higher spinning heads since they already deloft the club so much. I’m sure it’s not always the case considering Collin seems to also use that Sim 8°. But a lot of them end up in either higher loft or something to create more spin.

So beautiful just now on pga tour live Morikawa hit a beauty knuckle fade 170 ballspeed. Announcer covering his group "Hes got a new driver in the bag that hes now able to work both ways". Standard sim fade 🤣

I believe he has the adapter set at +1.5* which explains why he uses a low loft head. Must prefer a more closed face. With the SIM apparently most of the tour guys put a heavier back weight and a lighter sliding weight in front which makes the head more forgiving and higher spin. I have my SIM built like that and it’s $$.

I just discovered this recently. I had been playing stock head weights for a while in an 8*. Then went with a slightly lighter back weight to reduce swingweight but maintain lower spin. Ultimately decided the forgiveness was more important and just put in the heavier backweight with lighter slider and I feel so much more confident. Everything wants to go straight. It is probably 5 yards shorter but a bad swing still ends up in the fairway. I cracked my first Sim 8* and bought another. The triple diamonds and TSR3 are right there too but hard switch after loving Sim for so long.
