You don't get it.  You can have the head the same size as a 975D but the paint scheme at address will still be the same.

Great dude and we talked with him a while at lunch.  

 

He was TM att, he said he loved that play for 14+ stmp and the TM Kingdom shop.

 

BUT - he did say the staff are all over these guys to jump.  

 

Like its built into the big contracts, why the top 5 always jump to greatest.

Why do Taylormade drivers have all of their lines angled the same way a huge slicer would leave scratch marks. The whole club just looks like it's ready to hit banana balls.

Could have just been the 3 wood. He just hit 3 wood on 13 so i'll have to pay more attention on 14 tee.

I was definitely wrong. Just the 3 wood in the SIM it is the Qi10 Max in hand.

Yep and you and I being the big V-Steel fans we are does that driver not have a V-Steel flair and look to it at address? I told someone on the Nelly thread that if there was ever such an animal as a V-Steel driver that would be it. I am anxious to see one in person

So he is using a MAX driver at 9* turned down to 7* to give him his optimal spin while having max forgiveness.  Interesting.  Paired up with a lighter shaft (likely tipped heavy).

He kinda made negative comments about the max lol he said he had a ton of hot melt put in because of the sound because its the max and the shape was okish compared to the sim hes used to. He sounds kinda frustrated a tad in what i read that he must use it a few times. He will be back to sim most likely.

The two years I worked for TM as a fitter were the R1/RBZ 2 and SLDR run. It was baptism by fire; dark times. Orange face paint, yellow bucket hats, ATV wedges...(shivers)

Yep, I was kinda excited hoping the max had turned into a bit lower spin head but after seeing reviews and reading his comments, the max head he has is a "Frankenstein" head with all the customization done to it. Definitely not the off the shelf max head for you and me.

I would have guessed that based on Collin’s preferred shape and miss (toe side) that they would have reduced whatever adjustable weight was available and added that back as hotmelt in the toe to neutralize the head’s draw bias.

He has that 9* turned all the way down to LOWER, ie 7*.

That should reduce the spin on that Max!

I don't think he's comfortable with playing anything other than a fade.  I do agree that it's a bit of a shock going to the MAX instead of the standard Qi10 but the Qi10/LS are both very low spin.  Diamana GT isn't too far off in terms of EI profile from the D-LTD he was playing however, dropping down to 50 grams is interesting to say the least.  Maybe he's playing a longer setup and looking to get more ball speed.

Interestingly, Morikawa on the recent Foreplay Shamble video had the same Qi10 Max / GT50TX originally pictured at the start of this thread, suggesting it was filmed several weeks ago, and they comment in the video about how Collin is actually hurt. He barely makes full swings and picks up the tee like 2015 Tiger Woods, so I wonder if going into the Sentry he just told the TM guys "Hey i'm f***** up, can you build me something super light and forgiving for this week?" and boom, this driver he played for like one tournament. He didn't play for three weeks after the Sentry, and when he reappeared he was in the Qi10LS / Diamana combo.

This reminds of that one year Rory put a hybrid in the bag for like 3 days (....wouldn't you know it, right around launch...hmmm) and everyone on here went nuts and bought one and then it was out of Rory's bag before the tournament was over
