Ping PLD+ program

RodrigoNicely

Recommended Posts

PLD+ program is live for guys who don’t want to pay the full PLD custom price. You can take a stock putter and pick your alignment as well as some stamping options. Really cool I think as I’ve been waiting for an Anser d with a sight line on top, but didn’t want to pay the full 1500.00 price tag

Looks to be 550.00

Not bad at all for $100 on top of the off the rack putter. Nicely done Ping!

EDIT: Just saw $585 MSRP on ping site.

Very cool - too rich for my blood at the moment, but I could see this as an option in the future (hello DS72 with PingMan etching on bottom)!

Its kinda disappointing you don't have the ability to switch out the grip - feels like they should have more options for a putter thats $500+...

Definitely a cool concept - but hitting a different place in the market than the PLD Custom program and has pretty limited options which is what I was guessing. For someone who prefers a specific sight-line or paint fill, it's perfect and will be appreciated by a lot of folks. But if you want models that aren't offered OTR with custom weighting, custom shaft options, custom grip options, carbon steel vs stainless, patina finish, etc. you're still required to go the $1490 route. It really is the best bang for your buck when you want something made just for you and your stroke.

Which in the UK is the $2500 route.  It also looks like PLD+ is not available here, thanks again Ping:

I'm sure they'll get there eventually. It's hard for a USA based company to hit every market in the world, especially on something as new as this while still staying profitable. I know the custom program took about two years from announcement to availability in the UK and i'm sure these would be at least a few months. Definitely not ideal, but if there were a custom putter program similar to this located in the UK, and I wanted to purchase one being in the US, i'm sure i'd be in the same predicament with price/availability.

Odd that you can only get one grip. As much as the color match is cool, I’d rather have the mid cord.

Pretty cool - I can see doing a 2D with a topline and some sole etching in my future.

Was also hoping for more grip options as well as neck options.

I'm sure you can do that at time of order.

Hmmm. A naked Oslo…

Oh yeah. I am loving that slight arc Oslo. I’ve always had success with similar Ping mallets — Ketsch, Fetch — and I almost grabbed a used plumber’s neck Oslo H. But this Oslo 3 looks like the best of all versions to me.

Wonder if they did something about the loud “ting” sound the first PLD Oslo 4 had. Thought about ordering this Oslo 3 but I’m afraid of that.

Hmm. I was not aware that was an issue. Would like to know the answer.

Only Oslo I tried is the Oslo H (Ping 2021 line) and that one had kind of a soft feeling face (at least, soft compared

to a Heppler). The Oslo H is a really good putter. I like the weight of that one but I like the hosel better on the new Oslo 3. Plus, all I want is a small line on the top rail.

Very odd that simple choices such as length aren't available in the customization process.

Hopefully someone can confirm more options at the point of order with a Ping dealer.  I assume these can be ordered through online retailers as well.

Keep in mind it’s Ping. They allow custom fitting for anything they sell. They were the first to ever offer it mainstream and is at the forefront of everything they do.

Bit surprised you can’t do stampings. Bumpers etc.

Ping doesn't stamp, they engrave or etch.

I ordered the Anser 2D w/ a sight dot. You have your rep/shop handle the order and the specs (loft/lie/length). I was also able to change the grip to the PP58 Tour Large w/ black paint fill. Can't speak for what is available for the other grips and if they allow paint fill changes on them.

Just a heads up, my shop called and PING does not offer paint fill changes on the PP58 Tour Large. So you can change to that grip but it will be the white paint fill.

Are you able to share what the production/delivery timeframe is for the PLD+ Program?
