There were some pretty excited fans around him on a few tees yesterday that he seemed to tune out even... better than most. He really gets in the zone.

Talk about being completely under the radar this week, besides being mentioned as a notable in @MattyO1984's OP, the next post which mentions him was only 2 hours ago.

 

 

The tournament was something like a horse race:

 

Around the 11t-12th hole it was neck and neck coming down the stretch, then on the outside came Hideki to win by three strokes.🤣 Long odds......

 

~Came from six strokes back, nobody had Hideki.

I followed him during a practice round at LACC and I agree with the demeanor you mention. He gets into the zone on the course and its awesome to see.

I said it earlier in the week. Bscin didn’t even know what channel the tournament was on and doesn’t even have ESPN +. I’m not so sure associating him with ‘the biggest Tiger fan’ is just. 🤔

Just a reminder folks, there's always something to play for on the PGAT (besides cash$$). Willy Z. and Luke List got 375 FedEx points for their second at the Genesis. I know that most WRXers only watch Majors and couldn't care less about points but come Playoffs every touring Pro wants to be at Eastlake.

 

~One of my favorites, Eric Cole got another top 10 and 150 points. Don't be shocked when he wins it all.... 😄

Guy makes KJ Choi look lively, hah. Does make the moments around his friends/team where he lets go a little even more fun. He does it a bit with the media and other players on occasion as well. 

 

That compilation of him dropping the club while he hits every shot to makeable range wouldn't be anywhere near as hilarious if he weren't so reserved, eh.

I love this compilation. It really shows you the high standards he holds himself to. I heard a clip on SXM where he talked about his round with Amanda via interpreter and he said besides his iron shots on 15 and 16 it felt like he played 3 over yesterday with that 62 🤣

Congratulations to Hideki aka the machine (but he's got heart, a ton of it - just doesn't show it in public).  🇯🇵  Finally a breakthrough despite the balky neck, back and the chronic balky putter 😆 (he's still 131 in putting despite yesterday's good stats).  Granted, everything looks better for him so fingers crossed -- the neck and back, in particular.  The putting/putter?  I can only continue to hope for streaks... (stats indicate he will forever be a streaky putter but that's the life of a ball striking fan)

I noticed his answers are interspersed with the sound/word “ma”. From what I can tell, it’s the Japanese equivalent of a pause as you think of your next words, kind of like “hmmm”, the translator seems to translate it into “you know”
