Corey Conners - WITB - 2024 Genesis Invitational

Recommended Posts

Those UST Lin-Q are quietly showing up everywhere. The most interesting part to me are the (relatively) high torque values. Need to try them out at some point.

Some could be the TSPX ones which this one might be just based on the white Lin-Q lettering with black outline. Which means this could be the TSPX Blue which has a torque rating of 3.4° vs the 4.8° on the regualr line. This just has a custom paint job.

If Ping sticks with the look of those S159 wedges, I think they could give ole Bob a run for his money.

Ping has been making the best wedges in the business for a bit, but tough to get over the aesthetic funkyness.

Just have to wait and see what happens with these.

My bag remains steadily one to two product releases behind.

Rotex 2.0s in your signature are nice wedges as well!  I have a fresh 50 in a back-up bag.

I'm confused. What part is a custom paint job? His name is printed on the driver shaft and the 80 gram shafts appear to be tour only, but nothing about them looks like their TSPX line?

Interesting the iron shafts are 6.0, not 6.5. The fairway wood is “Max”, not LST.

They could maybe be disguising it as a stock Lin-Q blue to get more attention to that line as it sells more.

Or maybe Corey doesn't like looking at a solid brught blue shaft like the TSPX line is and asked for it to be black.

But it's just an assumption since the stock Lin-Q line are super soft shafts which most pros don't usually fit into.

Anyone know what ball he plays?

These Ping BPs irons are one of my favorite designs.  Love the minimal look and I was a huge fan of the i59's as well (from a looks perspective)

Corey is an exceptional ball striker.  Elite some may say.

I have the blue and yeah. It’s 4.7 torque which is double my normal but I kinda like how it is working.

Yeah, I got the Rotex 2.0's as a stop gap to tide me over while addressing more pressing issues in the bag. Got both from CPO in "Good" condition for about $60 a piece.

IMHO, one of the last Cleveland wedges to keep the classic 588 construction. I've played them very well over the past 3 years.

I'm a Cleveland guy from way back - and I know the current Cleveland wedges are good - but the styling leaves something to be desired - i.e. classic simplicity.

Is this Corey’s first tournament without the iBlades?

I was wondering the same thing. He only played the i59's for a few tourney's and then went right back.

I had a set if i59's and did not like them, went back to Iblades and s55's att.  They seemed like a bust.  No one plays them if I recall.

But saw another comment that these BPS is specific to a s55 replacement.  The i59's had no "pop" and distance was down a club compared to iBlades.

- Something that continues to go long off the tee in the fairway
- Something that is a fairway finder when needed and long
- Something that high, consistent and helps with par 5’s
-  Something to help with long par3’s and short par 4’s

-  Something metal, lots of them and go the gaps I need
- Something metal, 2x of them and helps me 120y and in
- Putters - limited rotation because I cannot afford misses

Golf is what you make of it.  Play grateful and accepting. We are all lucky to have it.

Rather than expecting lets all try and appreciate instead.

CC is one of the best on Tour and he drives it a mile for that smooth swing.

I was not a fan of the i59's.  They were 48* PW but still I was down a whole club over iBlades and went back to those.  Plus a set of s55's I had for a while.

But now I am back to Wilson v6's for most of last year..   Im a ho.

Funny enough, I have a friend who owns a set of i59’s and also a set of MP20’s.  He says his MP20’s are way more forgiving, but he occasionally has the i59’s in the bag because they launch higher…

I’m aware of maybe one player who has the i59’s still in the bag, LIV bro Sebastian Munoz I think is the only one

Yeah it’s weird, the i59’s ai had just didn’t feel they had any umph.

Beautiful to look at and felt nice. But not iBlades which I love.

s55’s are crips and I dig them. But iBlades I love. Great irons.

RF plays a LIN Q as well IIRC without anything done to it besides tour only weight or specs.

I dont think UST is doing any trickery here. The shafts are either protos or early paint schemes but theyre not trying to disguise anything to sell more shafts.

I had a tour issue LIN Q red 8F5 in my hands a few weeks ago from the callaway truck and it was the same.

Isn't rickie in an all black diamana shaft?

If they are using the regular Lin-Q and not the TSPX ones that's just interesting honestly seeing how high torque they are.
