Yeah that's right. Trying to mirror his dad who was right handed, or something like that. Phil playing left hand is probably a little more strange than Tua playing right. There are a lot of lefties that are fairly ambidextrous.

Exactly my question too! In another photo from a different angle, it looks like they've got a Ping 430 driver and a TM Stealth 3 wood, so they seem to know what they need to play good golf and what's going on in the modern club world. Which makes the use the i3s, white dot, in excellent condition, all the more intriguing. Who could this person be, lined up next to Tua like that, at a PGA National type event/pro-am?

Tua seems like a good guy but Miami will be making a mistake if they extend him to a multi year high dollar contract. Too many NFL teams have buried themselves by overpaying for their QB., and I don't want that to happen to the Dolphins.

Not flashy in the slightest, which is the least surprising thing I’ve seen all day. That’s just the way the dude rolls. Maybe he’s a tools not toys kinda guy? Or maybe he just throws darts regardless of what kind of ball you give him. 😂

 

Seriously though, Tua is good people. If you haven’t watched Hard Knocks this year, he was hyped for a month during December because he couldn’t wait to give the entire QB room golf simulators for Christmas.

He doesn’t seem like the type to demand a huge contract to the detriment of the team, but I fail to see how signing one of the best passers in football while he’s young is a bad thing. Especially with key skill guys on early/team friendly deals and enough weapons to compete.
 

Better to take a chance now than when you have to resign Waddle, pay Tyreek, and continue to pony up to keep the rest of the highly paid defensive unit that can’t keep a ligament together past December.

It’s all good man. Alabama didn’t beat AU from the time I was in middle school until after I graduated HS in ‘07… It’s hard to be on the losing end of that one. I get it 😂

I'm old enough to remember 1969-70 when they tried to run Bear out of Tuscaloosa.  Time sure change.

Back in March the Dolphins did exercise the 5th year option of Tua's rookie contract, so he can play for Miami next season without the team committing to a longer term contract.

My concern is that instead of doing that they will do what too many other NFL teams do, which is over pay on a long term deal for a QB. For example , right now the Bengals, Bills, Cowboys, Chargers, Saints  and about 15 other teams have handcuffed their teams by paying the QB too much money for too many years.

Thats understandable. I’d like to see more NFL teams take the recent MLB approach… sign a guy to an extension well before his contract expires, pay him more upfront instead of running him all the way through a rookie deal, but pay less in the long run for an early extension. Everyone wins. Player gets $10-15M/yr more, early in his career, and the teams gets a friendly long-term solution without handcuffing itself to the cap.

 

Hard to do in Tua’s case because of the injuries, coaching changes, and general state of disorder when he arrived, but McDaniel has done wonders for him. 
 

BUT, to get this thread back on track, that PXG putter is whack. Do better, Tua. Even on that 5th year option salary 😂

I’m going to blame the PXG setup on the CTE. T town and Miami aren’t really places that seem like they have a PXG following.

I’m actually working in Alabaster, AL about a mile from where Tua went to high school.  My cousin teaches at Thompson.  By all accounts he really is a kind, down to earth guy.  I just like poking fun at Bama fans.  God knows they’ve given me enough grief over the years.  But yeah, I’ve never heard anything but nice things about their whole family.

I think a lot of it has to do with lack of lefty equipment at stores or their parents/older siblings had right handed clubs so they were going to have to learn on hand me downs
