I've got a similar one. Great putters, especially for the $$. If I were her, I'd ditch the fat grip and the crosshand stuff. Then again I'm a 10HC and she's  a pro. 🤡

It definitely looks like a nice relaxing course for amateurs.    

 

 

Pretty much everything that's wrong with housing development courses in the valley. Fairways a mile wide with little trouble, few front bunkers guarding the greens, and little slope or contouring on the putting surface. 

 

Great to see them pick up a big league sponsor, and be back in the desert, but they need to find a new home for this next year.

I can’t believe they are playing at Seville. One of the most mundane layouts in the valley, barely an above average housing routed course.

I haven't played that many courses in Phoenix, but I do remember Grayhawk Talon course absolutely wearing us out 20 years ago during a trip and there are much harder ones out there now.  Maybe they can go somewhere more challenging next year.   Seville seems too retirement- community - like and overly easy for the players (of course) although I'd find a way to drop a 90 there and 3 putt every other green.

The problem with an easy golf course is that tge tournament hinges on who makes the most putts.

Her IG posts /stories have been like this for some time . She used to be absolutely dead eyed focussed at executing to the highest possible level. These days a lot more reflective/philosophical…. {injured}
 

Again.. I think this is understandable evolution of someone who has grinded like crazy and massively over achieved. She’s already done it. Over and over. Might be she’s mulling other things for her immediate /short term future .

It's amazing to see how quickly some players lose their "groove" from one week to the next. Especially on an easy setup.

I just don't see them shutting down the course at this time of the season for over a week. They hosted the NCAA Championships for 3 years, and that was a big commitment, but it was in late May after the snowbirds had generally left town.

Imagine having a bad ball striking day, shooting over par on this golf course, and seeing the other ladies tear this place up.

Yikes.   I'd be tempted to throw clubs in the lakes.

They mentioned yesterday that the winds were going to pick up this afternoon. Looks like winds close to 20 mph, and gusts close to 30 mph.

Gawd, that course is awful. I've played courses with shaggier fairways than the "rough". Hard to even call it rough. 

 

Most of the greens are at fairway height with zero defense. Short is no big deal. Easy putt or chip from the fairway.

MHL makes the cut on the number and only 2 back, wow!  She likes the wind.

 

 

Yealimi does not like the wind. Even par round today. Maybe can crack top 10 tomorrow with advantageous tee time and 6 back? At least no more waitlisting for a while.

Karen S suggested everyone down to -11 had a shot.  With ties, that's...28 players, more than a third of the field (and over half of those 28 have wins already, if I counted correctly).  If the weather leads to advantage for earlier players, could get very interesting....but the forecast doesn't seem to be saying the wind will pick up again so dramatically during the day.
