@Argonne69 was going to spend upwards of $2,500 (traveling included) to play it:

If I can get a tee time. Very limited availability. If you're not a high roller, odds are not in your favor.

LPGA Tour Life has been getting upgrades here and there; good for them:

Nice that Megan Khang is the "face" of this announcement (and maybe also the "face" of hte actual FM Global tournament at TPC Boston ... i.e. local girl & Boston Celtics fan (see her recent "Lakers vs Celtics" challenge with Alison Lee ... loser has to wear the other's team colors at LA/Boston event).

Oh no, not that icky purple and gold... But I dislike the Celtics more.... But I like Meg more... Tough call 😂 it would more penal if Alison had to wear boston jersey in LA and vice versa

Paula C going off at +50,000 on BetMGM.  She can still get the ball airborne right?

Yani is 1000k to 1 😂 here's a penny

I would put Lee6 in that category, I like her, but she might be the worst in the field besides Paula and Yani. She is the only player on tour, by quite a bit, under 50pct GIR. 🤮

Fairly obvious/boring  pick ..but early money on Furue .

Also a bit on Boutier . I don’t like punting her generally, but I will this week purely because her stern head looks like a pain in the a** to oppose in match play

Hoo Joo 54 hole leader because that seems to suit her modus operandi of crushing without winning

Off to Sin City. With the schedule change this year adding a week off before the Chevron, there should be a stronger field.

Disappointed in the TV coverage, though. We get 3 hours of streaming coverage on the paid Peacock service, but only 2 hours on the GC on Thursday, and 1 hour on Friday. Bah.

Here's a rundown of the new format:

  • Field expanded from 65 to 96 participants
  • Players previously competed in a group-play format, but starting this week, they will instead compete in stroke play from Wednesday to Friday with a cut made to the top 65 players and ties after 36 holes
  • After 54 holes, the top eight players will advance to the weekend’s match-play competition
  • The Quarterfinal and Semifinal matches will be played on Saturday with the Championship Match held on Sunday

One could argue for the format to be turned the other way around.
The problem with match play tournaments is that the weekends often gets pretty bland, with potentially two rather unknown players in the final, not attracting attention.
The most exciting days are often the first days. The first days in the Austin tournament was great.

So, match play first to qualify say 16 players that ends the tournament in stroke play.
Would make some kind of spectator sense, wouldn't it?

you would want more than 16 need enough players to fill the course imho so have the match play determine the flights for 64 players total and the top 8 which will be the last 4 groups are playing for the win.

I overlooked Sei Young (now she's top of leaderboard of course) - she's finished no worse than T17 in her 5 starts so far this year.

Forgot about this courtesy of ANWA.  Ingrid L for the win...

I'll go for spunk today and choose someone already in the top 8 right now, Jenny Shin shin! 😆

No surprise, Galitsky is in first! Hopefully one of the 3 Trojans wins

Minsol Kim is not here? She must be playing on KLPGA since her now main sponsor is hosting the event ..bad timing -_-

My opinion of Augusta is in the basement, but if Eila is in contention comes Sunday I may watch this.

Sport Art? Sounds like a branch from Jim and Darryl's company on The Office.  I believe Narin An is now the only LPGA golfer sponsored by Mediheal with SYR soon gone and Yaeunnie demoted back to KLPGA... A wise choice over Epson.

The beloved one is all smiles.  New name is now "Immortal Beloved" - no relation to the Gary Oldman Beethoven film.

DK channeling Gary Player with the all black, and her round today of course!

Love the course.

How on Earth did Sei Young, Danielle, and Rose shoot 66 and 67s?

Based on her IG, DK plays there with her brother every other day. 😂

I apologize for getting the playoff for the top eight wrong in a previous post. I misread the LPGA post below.

Wednesday and Thursday

Stroke play with a cut after 36 holes to the top 65 and ties

Friday

Stroke play with a cut after 54 holes to the top-eight players; in the event of a tie for the last match-play spot(s), a hole-by-hole stroke-play playoff will be utilized to decide the final match-play spot(s)

  • Match-Play Seeding: For ties within the top-eight, match-play seeding will be determined using the following criteria: lowest score from the third round, then lowest score from the second round, then lowest score from the first round and finally, Rolex Women’s World Golf Ranking as of Monday, April 1.
  • Seeding for players in a playoff for the final match-play spot(s) will be determined by those players’ scores on the playoff holes if the scores are different. If the playoff scores are the same, seeding will then be determined by the above criteria.

Shadow Creek is someone’s home course? How does that work?

She's sponsored by MGM, which operates the course. Must be one of the perks.
