I usually like tourneys to finish really close - won or lost on the final hole. But now and then it's kinda cool to see just a dominating blowout of a performance.

Simply amazing what Nelly has accomplished this season. I'm sure a player has won four times in four starts, but I sure don't remember the last time it was accomplished.

Nancy Lopez, then a tour rookie, in 1978 when she won 5 consecutive starts?

Edit - Annika also won 5 consecutive starts. Lorena (2008) was the last to win 4 consecutive per Golf Channel.

Had to want Nelly to win, but normally I'd be all in on Leona. Both just superb players, and the Women ( Am and Pro ) just absolutely dusted the PGA this week. Even with Speith's bizarre antics and McCarthy's Sunday run. LPGA needs an Augusta tourney...

I think we'd all love to see the LPGA tee it up at Augusta National, but I don't think it's going to happen.

I've been impressed by Champions Retreat. The tour hasn't played regularly in the southeast for some time. Wouldn't mind seeing them at the Retreat.

Even if they just played it as a one-off, like as a venue for a KPMG LPGA Championship or something, it would be the biggest deal in women's golf.  The hype would be unbelieveable.

Anyway, this was a fun watch, though Nelly was obv already 4 up before the coverage came on.   It was a struggle for the announcers, especially Karen and Kay, to come up with things to say with only one group to cover.  But other that it was a good watch because you got to see all the shots, a rare treat.

I actually think it will. Mo is on their side.

Champions Retreat would be an excellent choice until...

Seriously, what would be the reason(s) for this? It's insane.

Timing would be a major factor. Would the LPGA be willing to move the Chevron? Augusta National pretty much closes after the Masters. With the ANWA, they'd have to play it in late March.

I guess a fall date would be a possibility, given that the Masters was played late in the year during the pandemic, but I just don't see the tour heading to the southeast late in the year when the fall Asian swing is in full progress.

The LPGA would agree to an Augusta date on any Calendar day of the year. And move Heaven and Earth to do it. They know it's that important (now).

Reluctant to say it (as I totally don't want to put a hex on it), but we may be on the verge of seeing one of those remarkable years when we see a player's game totally gel. When everything is magic, and some individual hits that rare place where they can win half the freaking tourneys they enter.

It is incredibly rare to see a season like that. At the very top level of golf - both the PGAT and LPGAT, the competition is insane. These are the best of the best. It is a miracle to even make one of those tours. A bigger miracle to win even one tourney (the look on Bhatia's face today was priceless). But an almost impossible miracle to win multiples. That's something really special.

On the LPGAT this is the level of Lydia, Annika, Lorena. On the PGAT it is Tiger, and (now) Scottie. We may be about to witness such a season from Nelly. All you can do is stand back and say how can someone be that good at such an impossible game?

But it is glorious to watch perfection.

You just jinxed it

What information was she disclosing?

Very predictable win for Nelly once she made the eight. In top form and only had RR #107 and RR#30 to beat with all the other top RR players already safely eliminated. Very smart play from Nelly today though. She knew which holes she had a big advantage on and was able execute them well....no different to how she has been playing courses recently.

@Shilgy The booth asked Kay if there was a leaderboard for Nelly to see where she was placed and Kay said no but she was just talking to Nelly's caddie and advised him. What else did they discuss is anybody's guess. The booth could pass on to Kay lot's of helpful hole information. My point was it's not likely but possible if your talking so in transparency they should just not do it.

I believe they may have discussed leaderboard.  That is not advice in any way I don’t believe and is shareable knowledge.  And I really really doubt an ex player like Kay would be sharing little tidbits like “the booth says everyone’s coming up short on this hole-bit don’t tell Leona” .

So many posts of how they like the in game talks and listening in on player caddie discussions and now you see a conspiracy of some sort?  I think rather than use the words “advised him” it should be just “told him” when asked how they stood.  Technically advised would be just as correct but in a game where sharing “advice” is forbidden it conjures up a conspiracy take.
