Yes dunno why she keeps fiddling with her swing (of course wrist issues had something to do with it but still…).  She is in danger of losing major exemptions so need to finish in high positions this year

Really surprised by some of the players missing the cut. Jin Young is in quite the funk. Ditto Danielle. 

 

Very nice, and emotional sendoff for So Yeon. Nice to see so many players bid her fairwell. Funny to see her mom dump a glass of champagne on her.

Biggest beef with the course is that many holes lack any danger in front of the greens. Land it short and its an easy chip. Now, the danger off the tee seems to be quite good with heavy bunkering and water on many holes.

Is it always overcast and gray there?  The golf course looks nice (certainly challenging), good leaderboard with some “names”  in the hunt, but I miss the sun and beautiful scenery of Mission Hills.  I guess that’s the trade off for all the $$$ that Chevron has put into the tournament.

I didn't know what it was, dare I say Dom Perignon? ( to match the Cartier watch along with the pearl earrings that this lady usually wears on the course in the past?)  I did see Hannah drinking to her heart's content (presumably as she didn't have to play this weekend) - Hannah loves these celebrations (I think all Aussies do, save for our beloved Minjee - she's more the quiet type, a hula dance is also awkward to her - can't blame her though, I prefer coffee as well ☺︎ - her father owns a coffee shop in Perth - ok I've digressed soooo far from the tournament)...

I always enjoyed Stephanie’s appearances on GC shows. She was very good. Only 50 years old. Very sad. RIP.

Maybe it's the camera angles but it seems there is virtually no one watching this tournament in person. It was the same last year.

 

Moving this from it's previous venue  in California would seem to have been a colossal blunder with respect to attendance.

 

I seem to remember the reason for the site move was the new sponsor Chevron wanted it in Texas. It's a shame they can't entice more people. Sparse crowds are a bad look for what is supposed to be a major event;

I echo'ed this sentiment when someone couldn't find parking earlier in the round (I forgot who it was - too lazy to scroll) - needless to say, yes, this is not a good look.  I don't resist change but it SEEMS like California was the way to go - so Chevron should actually move it's HQ!  (Weren't they in CA in the past? LOL)

That'll be too much for SYR.  She cant  stand bugs, let alone drinking from a shoe I believe!  😈) - can you tell play has been suspended for a while that I'm typing "i digress from the tournament stuff" right now?  (though SYR is actually part of the tournament, and of course, retiring)

 

So Yeon Ryu came back to her home in Las Colinas, Texas, for the first time in nine months and spent two days cleaning with a broom in hand after her vacuum died. (She also wore a mask and gloves because dead bugs are not her thing.) The South Korean went to Chipotle to satisfy a chicken bowl craving and caught up with her swing coach Cameron McCormick.

Major bummer. Leaders having to get up before dawn to finish their rounds is definitely going to have an impact on the outcome. Rain forecast in the morning will also be a factor.
