Playing Majestic's Signature Course tomorrow, I'll find out. I've played it before, but only once 10 years ago or so, nothing in the memory bank to really draw on.
Been a couple years since I played it. Conditions are usually on par with a muni that is in good shape. They tend to host a lot of tournaments.
Lotta doglegs left as I recall. Was just talking about that course with someone the other day. With all the rain we've had this year, if a course can't grow grass, they're in trouble!
We got routed over to the Crossroads course instead; they had a tournament show up with an extra 45 players, wiping out the slot we had for a tee time. Wasn't that lovely? They gave us a deal in response, which was nice. Not quite like having total consciousness, but you can't have everything.

I wound up playing like complete dog excrement. I haven't shot this bad a score in a very long time...

And the reason I generally avoid that course comes out. ha! They do a very poor job of managing the play there. I remember they had a twilight special with ZERO tee times. You showed up and got in line and you literally RACED to the tee box to see what order you'd be playing in that day. Surprised more fights didn't break out there.

And it was Friday the 13th. This day just has a way about it.

Full moon today, too; didn't realize it until after getting home. No wonder my game was in the sewer.

I almost never leave my house on Friday the 13th. ONE bad thing has happened to me on a golf course, and it was a Friday the 13th.
Rob and Al made me go play today. They were sorry for it. :superman::pimp:

Indeed it was! The Diabetes Open was played once again. Everyone remained mostly conscious for short spans. I overcame a high sugar midway through to bring it back around and shoot a 75. LOL! Celebration in the parking lot consisting of Reed's ginger brew for the victor. God bless you, insulin and exercise.

Who has the best range and the best prices for range balls? I live in New Hope but travel around the metro for work.
I also live in No Hope. Eagle Lake has a nice range and prices are okay. Two days a week they are off mats though (Sundays and Wednesdays I believe)

Does anyone know what they did with the famous tree-protected par 3?

There was a blurb about the changes in Golf Digest this month.

I never had a chance to play it before the renovation, so I'm excited to get out there and see it for the first time
That may be best. It looks like its going to be "different" from what it had become over the years, and that is probably the best part of this restoration in that they tried to make it a more historical one than trying to preserve what they had made it into. Some Keller loyalists I'm sure won't like it. I'm excited as anything for all the trees they removed. They really cut down on the proper playing lines of the holes. Some par 4's have been made into par 5's and vice-versa. Its going to be interesting, yet very familiar. Have never played a "before/after" renovation course like this, so its kinda cool to see what they did.

The par 3 4th they said the tree was verboten for removal. Cardinal sin of golf achitecture, planning around a tree in case it dies, and the architect knows it and said as much. Green was expanded at least to help people hit it, and the bunker under the tree was moved so you can try to play under the tree if not able to hit over it. The bailout right appears to still be there.

So now we are 3. From what I hear we definitely need the 4th one to keep adequate pace as the tee time sheet if full of 4somes
