dude do you even watch golf cuz if you have been you would have noticed that snedeker has not been any of the big tournaments lately. This is due to him not being qualified to play in them not because he doesn't want to. He has made 3 of 10 cuts this year. Before you make it personal and attack my fanhood you should get your facts straight.

Chris DiMarco

Jesper Parnavik

Carl Petterson

are two that come to mind right now that used to be highly ranked or always in the hunt and have seemingly dropped off the golf radar. Realize I'm speaking in the general sense, I know they are still competing and playing on Tours but you get the idea.

Feel free to throw out any others that come to mind....and oh yeah if you have any answers as well :)

Maybe no one else cares but I'm wondering about Kim Welch from the Big Break. She played really well the first day of the Navistar here but fell apart on the second.

But regardless she had already earned her way on to the LPGA before hand so I'm wondering why she hasn't played in any events this year.

I followed Snedeker for 9 holes at the US Open a couple of weeks ago during his Wednesday practice round. So he has been played in at least one "big tournament" very recently.

Having seen Schwamkrug play, I can tell you this guy can move it out there with anyone who's ever stepped foot on a golf course.

some might say that, only if they are a complete idiot though!. typical american.

I think it is quite safe to say that the european tour has considerably more strength in depth. If you take out Tiger and Phil is there anyone there worth getting exited about?

Actually, I think that the European Tour headliners are worth getting excited about, but there appears -- to me -- to be a significant drop-off after the first fiteen top players there that doesn't -- to me -- appear in the USA PGA Tour until you reach number 45 or so on that money list. I don't see the equivalent of a Brian Gay or a Lucas Glover in the European Tour fields.

The problem is, there are very few events where all the players on the list you posted tee it up in the same event at the same venue. Even though the game is the same, the venues played are not. It makes it difficult to make meaningful comparisons.

I also believe, regrettably, that there are so many pros on both Tours who are content with a good paycheck rather than striving for a win. At least until they've gotten close to winning themselves. Maybe that's because the fields are so evenly matched. All Tour players are a group of talent unto themselves, and I know I'll never get a sniff of what it feels like to hit the ball so pure AND so consistently.

I'm sorry you have had such bad experiences with Americans that you are able to typify them as you have in your post. Thankfully, I've never met a "typical Englishman". I know quite a few English nationals, and they all differ.

Not sure if this topic is only for male golfers, but what about Grace Park? Not only a very good golfer a few years ago but very nice to look at also. It seems she has contracted "Duvalitis", she rarely makes a cut.

Grace was injured (back, wrist) and has had surgery. She should return soon. Wonder if she will be able to contend, however.

The most famous guy in golf for three days and ONLY three days, T.C. Chen.

May his name be forever ingrained in the minds of any player who's ever double hit a golf ball.

About 10-12 years ago I met the guy who was TC Chen's caddie in that '85 Open. He stayed in Las Vegas for a few years and was a huge sports bettor, tens of thousands per game, so much that he had to spread it around and have other guys wager for him because some books didn't want his action after he beat them badly.

I had known him for more than a year before the topic came up, that he caddied for Chen in that Open. Sure enough, when I saw the replayed highlights there he was, only much younger with longer hair.
