http://danpohl.net/about.php

He lead the tour in driving distance in 1980.

He won the Vardon Trophy in 1986, played on the Ryder Cup team in 1987.

I saw him win the Michigan Amateur on my home course in 1975 and 1977, longest hitter I have ever seen in person, it was amazing and he did it with a half backswing.....

He had major back surgery sometime in 1989, and never was the same.....plus knee operations, neck operations.... Been on the Sr. tour since 05.

Bryce Molder?

Signed with Nike then DIPPED.

Ricky Barnes?

Both are currently fully exempt on the PGA Tour.

Really? I hadn't seen them in a while.

I always rooted for Molder...he has one pectoral muscle and plays through that handicap. Special kid.

I was actually going through the Charlotte airport last Thursday standing in line at Jamba Juice and this guy starts walking by the store and I'm like wait.....is that Bryce Molder, sure enough he keeps walking and has a PGA Tour backpack, definitely him. Must've been an alternate for Quail Hollow. That dude can play.

I realize many of you don't follow the game as closely as many of us here...but seriously, many players mentioned here are still active players making cuts somewhere around the world. Jesper Parnevik, Luke Donald, Camillo Villegas, J.M. Olazabal, etc. Sure, many mentioned were forgotten, but there are so many that were mentioned that are truly active and quite competative...and doing well!! Pay attention to the tours people!

Now, here's one...Jim Carter. (Not the former president)

What's Jesper been up to?

Chris DiMarco?

Jerry Kelly?

They haven't been making much noise lately.

Are you serious???

Jesper plays on the PGA Tour most every week. DiMarco has fallen in the world rankings but still plays...and Kelly won last week. This may not be the best thread for the casual fan.

bruce crampton, saw him a couple of times in different years at silver pages tournments and he was very friendly, had his caddie take a picture of my wife and i with him and gave us the thumbs up or might say something to us after a great shot or a birdie. not at all the bad guy he was made out to be. that was about 20yrs. ago.

I think he's about 75 years old at this point. He's probably been done with tournament golf for quite some time. I didn't realize anyone thought he was a bad guy. From what I saw of him on the Senior Tour and from what I've read and seen on tape from his career on the regular Tour, it seemed like he played extremely cautiously. So much to the point that it seemed like he would lay up every all the time, whether he was 250 from the hole or 180 from the hole. That being said, a great player from Australia who probably doesn't get the credit he deserves.

I understand that I am young and can't bring out all these names like everyone else does. I wasn't trying to say that Luke Donald is a "so and so", but I was curious as to why I hadn't seen him in a while. Like mitchleary said, I guess he is still trying to come back from the surgery. I'm sorry I don't have the extra time required to actually say I "pay attention to the tours." I will make sure next time that I properly study everything and know what I am talking about before I reply to another post.

Anders Forsbrand?

Bret Ogle?

Fan of lanky long hitters, huh?

Forsbrand left the Tour in 2003 and was a Ryder Cup vice captain in 2004. He now coaches the Austrian amateur golf team.

Ogle does some commentary for Aussie TV. He left the Tour about 10 years ago.

http://www.brettogle.com/

Not really. I just loved Forsbrand's swing and really thought he would be a major force. I used to know his father-in-law and I am glad to hear he is doing well.

Ogle just popped in my mind.

Forrest Fezler

That goes way back, probably early '70s. Inverrary was a chic new PGA event, with Jackie Gleason and Bob Hope getting tons of publicity by playing against other in the pro am. No one had ever heard of Forrest Fezler but the guy with the distinct name was a sensation all week until he blew it over the final holes.

Forrest Fezler is probably best known for donning a pair of shorts to wear for the last hole of the 1983 US Open in protest of the long pants only rule.

What ever happened to Forest Fezler? He now has his own golf course design business having been an associate of the late Mike Stranz and having been involved with the creation of Tobacco Road, Tot Hill, Calidonia, Bull's Bay, etc...

Fezler is a bit of a legend here is in San Jose. Almost everywhere you go (golf related) someone wants to tell you a story about him. Everyone seems to think when he was a kid he had loads of talent. I am not originally from San Jose, but people always tell stories about him and Roger Maltbie.
