Golf Channel is not a 24/7 new network like ESPN News and CNN etc. They probably need to get anchors and such into the studio.

Airbags should deploy in relation to the force of the accident, not the basic speed. I worked for a seat belt company for years and the bags on European cars are hyper sensitive to all impacts and deploy when required. Not sure if a Cadillac, which is like most US made cars is several years behind our legislation and technology would have such a complex system but very shocked that they didn't deploy at all...

This is not true.

Airbags are triggered to deploy based on either an acceleration level or the derivative - Jerk (depends on the manufacturer & type of sensors). He could have been driving pretty fast and clipped a fire hydrant or obtusely hit a tree (or run over a small tree) without triggering the airbags. If he had hit a large, immovable object head-on at over 18 mph (like a large concrete block), then the airbags would deploy as that is the speed to which airbag deployment is calibrated to trigger 100% of the time under those conditions (per regulatory requirements). That said, I'm not sure how Cadillac calibrates their airbag deployment.

I used to do impact testing/development for one of the automakers as part of my job developing a seat integrated seat belt system.

and just fyi everyone, i was in a car accident in january 2006 where i fell asleep at the wheel going 25 mph heading home from working the graveyard shift. 25 mph... went through a lightpole which woke me up so i slammed on the brakes then i kept going and went through a walk/dont walk sign and into a building. shattered my right heel into hundreds of little pieces, was out of commision for 6 months and still limp to this day. speed has NOTHING to do with it

Please you think the golf central anchors are part timers? They don't have a news department that's there all the time? Or at least 2 1/2 hrs short of their next broadcast? You think they walk in 45 minutes ahead of time, read their cue cards and head back to their jobs and Krispy Kreme? Whatever the reason, I'd like to think we could get some information on this story from "Golf's home" what a joke.

I dont think any of us should speculate just yet, lets wait and see what happens, we should give alot of respect to the worlds greatest player, and give him the benefit of doubt. Im not a huge fan but have alot of respect for what him and what he has done for this game of golf.
