Hate to break it to you, but titleist hat is half the market out there. Some folks get it for free or was gifted.
I wear a hat not to look like a pro regardless of what's on it.
By this remark then, no one except a pro should be wearing what they are wearing...not even a teaching pro because heaven forbid, someone might think that they are touring pro.

I actually never said anything about skill level in that remark. If you're a 25 handicap and use Titleist products buy yourself as many Titleist hats as you want.

No smart guy, I actually bought a Titlest hat once because it was the only black fitted cap in my size in the shop. Had nothing to do with wanting to look like a tour pro.

I sometimes wear a Seattle Seahawks hat and am not currently on the roster or the practice squad.
I also have a Ballyliffin Golf club hat I am fond of and I am not a member there.

It seems showing up naked and with rusting 30 yr old clubs is the only safe way to go to certain driving ranges.

I'm not one that should be judging anybody's dress so wear what you please as long as you have clothes on.....but about the hat thing, I used to work at a golf course and we'd get manufacture reps in all the time giving us free hats/gloves ect so I've developed a nice hat collection at no cost. Being the cheap guy I am I'll just grab one and wear it because the price is right, regardless of what's in my bag.

With you on this one - I've probably played a dozen different club brands just over the past decade. My storage room is completely full of golf paraphenelia .. bags, balls, hats ... etc. I probably couldn't even remember where half my hats came from - some are from charity tourneys, others were just bought at the last minute at a course shop when I wa traveling, or realized I forgot to stick a hat in my bag. Half the time I'm stumbling around at 6 in the morning, barely awake, scrambling to get ready because I slept in a have a 6:30 tee time, and grab whatever hat happens to be closest. Wouldn't even [i]remotely[/i] occur to me to try to make sure that whatever hat I grabbed matched whatever clubs happened to be in the bag I grabbed. That's just kinda ... well, silly. No?

The only reason I question wearing loud outfits to the range is that it's an attention grab. I'm there to practice and like to be left alone while doing it, not have people staring at me.
