Would you give up golf for $1,000,000?

Not a chance. 30% gone with a home purchase. Another 10% on all the crud we don't need,... Car, etc... College funds... Wife said I have to say 5% for purses... (Grumble)... No way. Money is money... My son telling me he loves me cause I take him golfing ( he's 4 )... Priceless!

Nope. I've been out of the game for amost 6-months with a shoulder surgery and I've missed the game more than anything. I work to play golf, and if I couldn't golf I don't know what I would do with myself. Money can come and go but some go a lifetime and don't find a passion like what I have for golf.

Hello fishing!! Salt water snook and redfish. Freshwater bass and walleye. Don't forget ice fishing, I love ice fishing!!! I love to eat fresh perch and bluegill. Heck, I might break out the old fly rod... on second thought, no fly rod...lol... I can certainly live comfortabley with 1mill and what I've got put back. Most likely I'm gonna hurt myself and be unable to play anyway...lol

I'd give it up for $1,000,000. I do enjoy golf...and I'm one of the lucky ones who can actually say the game has "paid me back" in a sense...it paid for my college education...

That being said, a million dollars free and clear if used wisely can set a financial future off in a very positive direction...no way I'd quit working.

I've also got many other interests (not to mention responsibilities) outside of golf...I play fewer and fewer rounds each year. I'd miss the game from time to time no question about it, but I'd survive happily using my free time on other things...family, hunting, fishing, archery, cycling...just to name a few...

After my first round of the year (+1 on a pretty wide open course without much wind): "Hell no, not for 100 million!"

Two days later after reality set in with an 87 on a tighter course with 25 mph wind: "I'll take whatever change is in your pocket, you've got a deal."

No way. Number 2 was right- a million dollars is just not that much money anymore. You can't retire on it. It's not life changing money. You can't stick it in the bank and live off the interest. You could day trade with it, but honestly, in the long run, the system is set up to fleece retail investors.

Never would I give up this game. NO AMOUNT of money will ever replace the past and future rounds of golf with my son(and hopefully daughter). I wouldn't have to think about it for a second. If it came down to it and my kids had to take out loans for school I'm ok with that. I paid for my entire schooling. With that said I've already started planning for their futures as well. Love this game and everything about it.

No way. The enjoyment I get out of golfing with family and friends is priceless.

I gave up one addiction a number of years ago and substitued golf as my addiction of choice. With no golf and 1 million dollars I would be dead in less than 2 years. There are a lot of things worth more than just money.
