2007 Burner Driver - compared to today's offerings?

So how does the 07 Burner/Burner TP compare to today's modern "Super Drivers". Just picked up a 07 FW that I had once before and sorely regretted getting rid of, which got me thinking about the driver. It was clearly one of "the" drivers of the past few years that really took over the market. Can it keep up with the new kings of distance like the razr, rbz, adams, etc?

I've tried all the new drivers, and non have kicked my 07 Burner TP out of the bag. Money is not an issue for me..., I would be happy to buy a new driver if it out performed my 07 burner tp. Just can't find one that can out perform it.

I've got new irons, wedges, putter, fwiw.

I have to agree as nothing i have tried has worked better than the 2007 Burner driver. I have all three, the Draw driver,The TP and also the Burner and play them all and have not hit anything better.Money is not the reason as if there was something i tried and liked better i would buy it.These are tremendous clubs.

Grabbed one off the bay, a bit beat up but shafted with a BB so good match I think to my fwy's.

There's also a V1 out there with a TM Speeder 757, I thought about grabbing it, but recall the V1 being super low spin/launch so went with the regular TP.

Titleist 910 D2 is so much better that the TM BURNER 07.... Adjustable, more forgiving, easier to work... Not even close.

everybody's different I guess. I played the 910 for over a year and imo the original razr fit and R11s both beat it for me. Buddy upgraded from the 910 to the 913 and after adjusting a bit (913 seems to have slightly more fade bias in general than the 910) is hitting it a good 10 yards further and with better trajectory - with the exact same shaft. Anyway, it's an experiment, my current "modern" drivers aren't going anywhere yet lol...

I just got a TP 07 burner 5 wood off of here with a 757 x flex shaft. I am starting to realize that I really like the look of the older clubs. I am even going to get rid of my hybrid and put an i15 in there. I used to be very anal about having all titliest clubs in my bag. Now I just want what works. I have the new 913 driver and FD and love them both, but mostly for shaft and that they are very classic looking. I cant wait to get my i15, just deals on here keep falling through so my funds are non existent.

Not sure about the 2007 Burner, but the 2008 Tour Burner TP with the TM/Fuji Rombax-75 was a real BEAST distance-wise...definitely as long as any driver available today! I think if it were not for the non-tradtional, (triangular), shape, that club would get a whole lot more love!

I'm actually looking for a 2007 Burner Driver for myself. I've been keeping an eye open for a couple of years hoping to find one in good condition at a fair price. I had one before and foolishly gave it away as a gift because it was a little bit less in distance than the Driver I was comparing it to, but I never forgot the feel of that one and am still looking for one these days.

I had it about 2 different times, and this is the third time I got it back. This time I got it with the TP Rombax shaft, and it's a bomber. Only reason I'm not gaming it is because I'm a Titleist guy, and my 913 is performing well. Honestly though, if I ever start having issues with my 913, I would have no problems switching to the 07 Burner Driver for a little bit.

Almost the same thing here. Bought and sold 2 times now. Woulda kept it in my bag but I'm a Ping guy. The newer Ping drivers are just too good. But I would definitely place the 2007 Burner in my all-time top 5 drivers.

I agree with most posters here. I used to have my own golf store, and I remember when I snapped the shaft in my own Driver at the time, I was playing in a Comp locally, with no Driver. In my shop, I only had 1 LH Demo at the time, It was a TM Burner 07, 10.5* Reg shaft. I thought, what the heck, I don't have anything else, but obviously thought this would be a spin meister. How wrong I was. Although I didn't win the Comp, I hit a shed load of fairways, and absolutely crushed it that day.

I've had alot of Drivers since with associated problems. So much so, I'm seriously thinking of picking up a 07 Burner from Ebay for about £40-50. Gotta be worth the price, even if I only have it as a backup.

+1 on this.

I hit the 2008 burner TP better than any club before or after but unfortunately I am a club ho and can't get it back in the bag. I have a used one that is beat to s*** but I also have a backup head I never used that is just sitting in my basement waiting for a shaft and a chance. Every once and a while I take the old shafted one to the range to compare it to my new driver purchases. I almost use it as my own launch monitor as I won't keep anything unless it hits close to the 2008 TP. I found the 2008 to be longer than the 2007 offerings. I used a 910 D2 for the past couple of seasons and I am putting a 913D2 into play this year. I am sure at some point I will again compare the 2008TP to the new club but I really like the looks of the 913 so I am hoping it gets it out there close to or farther than the 2008 TP.

It would be awesome if someone made me a ridiculously lowball offer on my spare head so the chance to play it never arises! :)

In.. The.. Bag! TP with Rip Alpha 70x. Have a second tour issue head as well.

3 wood too.. 14* TP with PX 10A2. Ain't going no where.

Driver is probably soon to be replaced by a R1 or G25 based on some LM sessions but the 07 is still awesome.

Had a TP for a while but it spun too much. I came from a r7 quad TP with the same shaft and had to go back. The distance was so much better with the r7 for me.

+1 2008 Tour Burner TP is still the in my bag. The R11 had a few extra yards on it but the burners dispersion is just too good with my current set up.

Hi everyone,

My first post here on Golfwrx. Have been on this site off and on but first time posting.

I know this is an old topic but I was wondering if any of you out there are still gaming the 2007 TM burner. It was my gamer for a long time and recently when I struggled with the Nike Covert and Cobra Fly-Z+ drivers that I have, I went back to it on the range and it fixed all the issues I have been struggling with.

Since then, I have hit the M1, Vapor Fly and the Ping G SFT. The only one that came close was the Ping G SFT but even that was not longer or straighter for me. Clearly with my swing where it is, I am benefiting from a draw bias again but still surprising to me that a driver almost 10 years old is so hard to knock out of my bag.
