Bill, I play Friday's typically around 12-1 tee times so I can get some work done first half of the day ;-).
I'm a 20 HC if you're ok with that happy to join you then. Not a member at TG but if they open it to guests in game.

Me a member? No iam not, I've been a few times with a member and yes the greens are ridiculous sometimes! Pretty cool track though! Any you guys play scope? It's not very long,but it's def worth it, tillinghast design and pretty cheap

I like Swope, it is a classic track. A few wonky holes, but a lot of fun.

I feel very ashamed to admit that Swope is one of the few courses in the area I have not played. Plan to change that this year. I even contemplated getting the KC Parks value card for $10 green fees so I could walk more this year. Still thinking about that.

Also, I'm interested in playing in some tourneys this year (scrambles, etc) so if anyone else is planning to or does already but needs another guy, let me know. Just got an email from Swope for a 2 man scramble on St Patty's Day...stuff like that.

Yeah it it kinda wonky! A few drive able par 4 s short par3s but it's a classic worth playing! So is hill crest its a Donald Ross design

The par three 13th at Swope is a beast. 230-240 from the blues with no real bailout area.

No 17 par 5 is a beas!! With that bunker right in the middle of the fairway ,then a 250+ uphill shot to the green

Hey, just found this thread. Just moved to north k.c. I can play on mondays and tuesday mornings as well as some evenings. I can play staley farms but only on tuesdays. It would be great to find people to play with. Im a 6 handicap and want to get better so I would love to find other single handicaps or better, but ill play with anyone who loves golf!

I can play some week day mornings when I am in town, and Staley is a nice track. I re-upped at Shoal Creek as well, so if you are interested let me know.

Just stumbled across this thread. Seems like my normal playing buddies are rarely available these days so I've been going out alone a lot lately. Live up north in Kearney but play Excelsior Springs as my "home" course. If anyone's ever in the area, let me know.

I haven't played any courses in the area. Just played WinterStone a few days ago, what a great course. Pretty tough having not played it before (and having not played a round in some years).

I've been keeping my eye on GolfNow and the like, and hope to play more courses.


Anyone else up in St. Joe? I know someone posted about being a member of St. Joe CC a few years ago in this thread. I've thought about joining up there..

Aside from Fairview (the only public course around) if you're looking for some short game work, you should also check out the Golf Club of St. Joseph. It's a 9 hole, par 3 course southeast of town. I haven't been there for years, but when we were in college we played out there almost every day. It's nothing special, course wise, but was cheap at the time and helped us keep our iron/short game in check.

You can usually find a reasonable priced round at Shiloh Springs in Platte City which wouldn't be too much of a drive from St. Joe (compared to Independence anyway).

The recent weather here has been unbelievable for golf courses. We're going on 17 days without rain, but it hasn't been hot or windy. Greens are the firmest/fastest I've seen them, as a whole around the area.

Welcome to KC (if you're new to the area). We have some great options here in KC. Check out greatlifekc.net as they have purchased a number of the courses in the KC area and they have courses for all budgets. They just announced a new membership for $179.99/month that includes cart and is good at Falcon Ridge, Deer Creek and Drumm Farm. That also includes access to their lower tier courses as well as some private clubs on Mon-Wed for $30 per play. I'm a member at Tiffany Greens which is your closest course. Great course if you haven't played it yet and you can get everything there for $2,550 a year. There is also https://theclubmembership.com. It's $35 per month for the membership and allows you to play 6 nice courses (including Tiffany Greens) for a $20 cart fee any day at any time.

I realize this adds no useful information for your question, but Excelsior is my home course and it looks better than it ever has. Their loss is my gain. lol
