Well I fell off the ledge and ordered a full set of G25s today (3-LW!) CFS stiff, black dot, midsized grips. Now the waiting begins. Will post a review once I get them and use them a few rounds.

I knew you'd come back around to shovels. ;)
These are less shovel-y lol. 32s aren't going anywhere ;)

How would you guys compare these to the jpx800 pros and the MP-53s...currently in the 800 pros and thinking of going to the 53s but you have me curious now. 12 HC and can occasionally swing like a 3 or a 20! Lol

Curious what you guys are playing in your woods/hybrids for those bagging the G25?
Driver is Adams Fast 12 LS with the Fubuki Alpha. I have a Stage 2 Tour hybrid but for some reason I cannot hit it...lost my swing with this club since I worked on my iron swing a bit....so I just use my 3 iron instead. My G25s are 1* stronger as well.

im a 2 index and got the g25s for 3 weeks now. the looks never actually put me off though i was coming from mp 59s.
i played bad all year, hardly ever broke 75 and well above 80 sometimes.its definitely not all due to the new irons but last week's club championship i won with rounds of 79, 67 and 72 and the confidence i had over the ball clearly had something to do with the g25 irons. i love them!

Love the " can occasionally swing like a 3 or a 20", that is me as well being a 10 hcp.

I own MP 53s and 32s and 63s and a few sets of Hogan etc. etc., yes I am a shameful iron ho. I bought G25 in May and none of thoseother irons have seen the light of day.

Read the resent comments from Kevnixon, plays MP64 and SHORTBUTST8, plays MP32. These G25s should not feel so good, they are big clunky cast iron shovels, but they feel great and play even better.Ask my buddy SHORT, he was giving me good natured grief for the last 3 months because I layed down my 32s for the Pings. Now he has gone and ordered G25 irons 3 - LW, man that is going all in. Congrats buddie!!!!

Yeah I am all in for now lol. I have been down Shovel Lane before with mixed results. The G25s seem a little different for whatever reason. They seemed to go through the grass better for me than the G15s even though there is really only minimal difference between them. And this time I am not going to get rid of my old set. I am going to hoard my MP32s like Gbyeball lol. That way if I ever get the itch, they will be there. Bit once I get the G's I will use them the rest of the season and get used to them. That has really been the issue in the past.

Hello all, newbie here...

I play ok, around a 10-12. I have been replacing equipment in the bag 1 at a time. I finally got a hybrid (adams, love it), updated and old dinosaur to an R11s fairway (love it). I grabbed 3 new CG14 black pearl wedges (50,54,58), have a few year old ping putter I love (PiperH), threw a super stroke 3.0 grip (took the hands out, putting much better now).

Now, I am at irons. I bought Callaway x-14's brand new countless years ago and still hit them. They are a good iron, but definitely time for an update. I was recently fitted for Ping G25 red dot's CFS S ,4-P steel, and think that will be the new iron.

I was kicking around getting an i20 9i, pw and getting g25 4-8i. I can order singles at cost through my bro.

Any thoughts for someone playing a 10-15 year old iron? Should I mix the set, or are the 9,pw nice looking on the g25 also?

Does Ping make a 430-440cc driver? I am looking to possibly update from my TM R7 TP, but can't do the 460cc head.

Thanks.

Reading posts on here I felt like the only guy in the world who did not like his i20 irons. I lost distance compared to my S56, and the clubs felt very clunky at impact for me. I recently swiched to the G25s and got my distance back, and even though the clubs are a little bigger, the turf interaction is 100% better for me. I play to a +2 to +4 index over the summer months. I don't have any problem knocking them down or hitting a little cut. They have Z-Z65 shafts, the same I had in my S56 and in my i20s. The size of the blade length at address took about a round and a half to get used to, and now they look normal to me. I don't know why I would ever want anything else.. There's definitely no reason for me to go back to my S56s.

Any information on " IF" ping is going to come out with an I 25 ??
3,247 threads on this and other websites filled with speculation but no facts.

Common theme amongst speculators: very little change from the instant classic i20 other than cosmetic with a Feb/Mar release.

I replaced my G10's with exact same irons in the G25's 5 iron through gap wedge. I'm wondering who has tried the G25 sand and lob wedges? I kept my I-wedges in the bag for now. I always thought I should have different wedges than my regular irons but now I am wondering.
I have the G25 wedges. I had been using i5 wedges plus an iwedge L and figured I'd just go ahead and make the switch full out. I see no reason to have different wedges automatically; I've tried it both ways and have had better success with the set wedges.

Thanks, I'll have to compare them to the new mp-53s on the way courtesy of the bay, can't deny 53s for $331 shipped! :) But I am hoping I can hit the 53s consistently because they DO feel better then my 800pros and they are great irons as well. If not, the g25s could definitely be in my future though never been a PING guy, I had Nike Split cavity forged irons before the 800 pros and they felt amazing and soft, but more punishing on misshits then the 800pros.

Tried em last week....no bueno for me, sole is too big...firm conditions out here, maybe in soft east coast conditions better....

head does not want to go into turf which makes it hard to compress ball....
The divot is supposed to be after you compress the ball otherwise it's just a fat shot.
Beat me to this comment. Wide sole doesn't matter. I'm a digger and my local course is extremely grass bear, and I've never once had problems making solid contact with the ball.
have an extreme shallow angle.....club has lots of resistance in ground....what happens after impact has huge effect prior to impact....cause lots of problems, went back to mp69......if sole and turf interaction(what happens after impact) wasnt a big deal everyone would play ginormous soles.....but clubmakers make sole grinds a big part of club design......by your theory it wouldnt even matter since its after impact.........it does matter...ALOT!......steep swingers can get away with it and soft conditions help....

My 50 degree gap wedge is almost my favorite club coming into a pin but for whatever reason when I get 15 yards closer and pull out the 54 degree wedge I can't execute anywhere near the same. So this is why I'm thinking of extending the G25 set into the higher wedges. Question - how is the 58 degree G25 out of the sand?

Yes this thread got a lot of us. When Instant Offense started this thread telling everyone that as a +4 handicap these irons helped him score better.........my head expolded. I felt like a total nobb gaming blades when someone much better than me is playing big ol GIs and loving it. As kevnixon said I am glad I read this as well.

I ordered the full set with the wedges. I used to play G15s which are even wide than the 25s and never had issues with any of the wedges. Even the 58 was great out of the sand (assuming you know how to hit a sand shot correctly). SHort irons in the 25s will be more versatile than in the 15s so I shouldn't have any issues.
