I am like you on the nature part when I walk my solo rounds. I love to look at all the wildlife around the course. We have those huge Fox Squirrels here that are tame and friendly. They will literally eat out of your hand. I think they get interested and they will follow you around sometimes hole to hole. On old one has been around for years will watch me on the practice tee or putting green.

White noses/faces or black faced ones?

If reincarnation is real I wouldn't mind coming back as a squirrel. Have to watch out for hawks and crossing the road but overall they seem to have fun being a squirrel.

My Friends, and you all are, I hope that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving day in whatever way is your own.

I am Thankful for this community.

I am Thankful that dispite my physical disabilities that I can still play. (Occasionally well.)

I am Thankful that I will enjoy a relaxing round on the course tomorrow with my best friend. The one who was silly enough to marry me and still puts up with my many idiocincrises.

I'm Thankful that we have a place of our own, enough to eat, that we're warm and dry and no longer have to shovel snow.

I am Thankful for you.

Be Blessed.

Keep Swinging,

Tim

Besides being blind and short lived. There are other choices to be reincarnated if you don't want to be human being again...LOL !

That figures ! Golfers involved in the famous “Great Escape” prisoner breakout in 1944. .I doubt that freedom to improvise the game of golf will be allowed in today's POW camp if there is one.

So are the C.O. had to watch their back from the same side....... people are different.

They are a strange variety--- I have seen white faces and black noses and then I have seen all black faces and a brown or reddish brown nose. I have never seen 2 alike. The ones that are really tame are gentle they will take a piece of food out of your hand with their front paws as gentle as a lamb.

Short lived is not a problem if reincarnation is real. You just die and move onto the next gig.

If that's the case.

T'is the time of the year, when everyone is on the edge of purchasing something, for one's self or for the love ones.

I, too, was looking at a set of 1999 Ben Hogan Apex ( nice condition ) and a few other older sets of irons. Almost pull the trigger on several sets of them. Decided to wait, and guess what ?

I already have the extra , extra sets of irons in the garage. Found a set of BH Grind ( need to change out the Apex 5 shaft in them , not for a senior ). Set of Peerless PHD Tour with Rifle 6.0 ( also probably should change out the shafts ). several other sets from Srixon, Callaway, Cleveland..........

All I'll need is probably some R flex steel shafts, wait, maybe I should look closely in the storage before I pay for any of the new stuff....................

I have a set of Grinds with Apex #5 shafts in them which is really stiff for me these days. With age I am forgetting I have stuff, To defend myself I have it scattered between the front bedroom, the shop and the storage room across the street. I can still use the short irons pretty much the same as before but beyond 6 iron, lost of distance set in. Unless I came out of my shoes swinging hard , sadly the 5 iron with Apex 5 only travels about the same as the 7 iron.

The days I could make the 2 iron sing was long over . If I don't look it the mirror , my kids will remind me of the time passed by. It was like yesterday when I could run up the stairs holding one of them in my arms and one on my back, giggling all the way up and then down. Now I could barely move the case of Costco fire log * 6 ib. log x 9 = 54 ib. ) to the bottom of the cart, shape and position matters but I could easily move twice that when I was younger.

Not at all being funny, have you guys tried yoga? I played rugby for over 20 years, and it took its toll. I do several yoga streches (poses) that I picked up from a friend and they help me maintain pretty good mobility. Life sucks when you cant move, I have had knee surgery, and several broken bones, shoulders been dislocated and broken, etc etc etc, arthritis is a PITA, but the Yoga does help. I am not into the meditative part of it, just the stretches. Just my $.02.

Funny you should mention that, I used to do it regularly maybe 20 years ago, just at home following a book I bought, but stopped when the kids came along.

I'd been meaning to start again for a year or so and a coupe of weeks back I got the old book out and tried some basic stuff, boy am I getting old! I could barely do any of it but a couple of weeks on and I can see some improvement.

The book advises that you never force anything and just go with what you can do, which suits me fine.

It's not all about the score.

Follow that advice to the letter, Yoga is more of an exercise than most people understand, and it will hurt you if pushed to the limit often. Both physically and mentally.

In fact , the meditation could really hurt someone if not done under guidance, even the masters had fallen into the pitfalls of the meditation, a few had died in the past if you search for the news archive.

I know and can't stand him!

He's the one that claims Huddersfield GC is the home of Yorkshire golf (forget Moortown,Ganton,Fulford etc.)

I commented on one of his videos on how poor his etiquette was when he raked the ball out of the hole using his putter.

He replied that I was ignorant because he was using a Ping specially designed for that, ignoring the fact that every man and his dog will see that and think it's ok for them to do the same regardless of what putter they use.

The old saying is so true;

'You can always tell a Wessie*.......but you can't tell him much'.

*Wessie; one who hails from West Yorkshire, also known on the coast as cumforts as in "Aye lad we've come for t'weekend",usually migrating to the numerous caravan parks and wander round in vests with beer bellies and tattoos, the men are even worse....

Interesting viewing. Although I had a difficult time understanding some of the dialog. What language are they speaking? :D

Whatever. Couldn't help thinking an overnight soak in some vinegar and good scrub with steel wool would make those irons look a hell of a lot better. Just because one plays vintage clubs doesn't mean they have to look the part.

It is a challenge to follow their dialogue... Must admit that Liam (?) is a bit of a card. He plays well opposite the other bloke. I do have one serious question though; why does it seem that all the video-log content is from Brits? It's like a cottage industry!

My problem is LOFT -- Lack of friggin' talent

A very incestuous cottage industry where they mostly appear on other vloggers channels and leave comments saying what a great video was uploaded when it was basically a crap infomercial.

There are a couple of US vloggers I've seen, one played with Rick Cheese (Shiels),Erik Anders Lang and No Laying Up.

Crossfield has just upped a real howler,an infomercial on a putting aid called Putt Out,basically a mat with lines and distances and a plastic trap to catch only the 'perfect putt'.

At the end of the video Crossy tells viewers that they can enter a competition to win a Putt Out kit and other giveaways by sending in footage or pictures of the way they use their Putt Out and he will judge which is the most creative use of the gizmo.

So,as someone has pointed out,you either have to own one or go out to buy one in order to enter a competition to win one......

What was that about 'you can fool some of the people some of the time......'

   Aw Fella what wrong with a little rust and patina? I love it makes folks think I have never played or can not play a lick. it really blows the tourons minds you know the clean and proper latest and greatest crowd. What also blows their minds is when you pull out a rusty club with a new grip. Most of my stuff looks like it came from the junkyard which it did. Now I will not misconstrue it I do have some nice vintage stuff one set in which you helped me with on the restoration of the leather grips if you remember. But if one looks close enough and knows what they are looking at through the rust they will see the grooves are clean and sharp except the 3 iron and 2 iron. What the shocker is at some of the high end clubs when they clean your clubs after the round. Had one guy look shocked and asked If I wanted those cleaned? Naaw I told him they had not been cleaned in 50 years so why now. that was the famous "junkyard set" that had literally came off the scrap pile the day before
