How many courses are within 30 minutes of your home????

Simple topic and one I've never seen here. How many courses are within 30 minutes of your home????

 

I come up with 23 courses within a 30 minute drive. 6 of them are nine holers. 8 of them are private.

 

How about everyone else?????

I'm on a farm in the country and there are still five public courses within 30 miles. Three are good tests.

A few miles further is the Sacramento area that has a considerable amount of nice courses.

If the half-hour drive doesn't have to account for rush hour traffic then it's a lot. Somewhere around 20, 21, 22. Plus a couple of Par 3 jobbies. Open it up to 45 minutes and it's probably 30-35 courses.

Interestingly there are only three courses within half that distance (15 minutes) of my house. I can drive 20-25 minutes in any direction and find golf courses but, living in town, there is nothing much close by.

One's a short 9-hole while the rest are 18. None would be top 100 in the state but three are pretty nice. None are private though one was and went public last year.

What day and time? I live in downtown Chicago, so travel times vary from crappy, to extremely sh*tty. If I leave early enough on a weekend morning, there are roughly a half dozen 9 hole courses, and ten 18 holes public courses. If I tried to get out after work during the week for a quick round, there are zero courses within 30 minutes.

Not sure of the exact numbers, I think Naples/Collier County has 72 courses and the southern half of Fort Myers/Lee County has to have 40-50 minimum. Simply a ridiculous amount within 30 minutes! I've been fortunate and have played just about all of them. Some great tracks and some not so good.

I am going to guess 60 x 18 holes .. and I may be low

My little town has 10 or 11 alone within 5 or 6 minutes of my house ... 40,000 people

I live in Orlando, according to a Google search we have 176 golf courses in and around the City. I only play 6 of them, maybe I need to venture out more.

I live just east of him and it is the same for me. Living in the Greater Toronto Area can mean well over 150 courses within an hours drive. Because of traffic that drive would need to take place at 6:00 am on a Sunday.

6 One of those is a 9 hole par 3 course, two are 9 hole courses(only one of em worth playing), and the other three are all really well kept 18 hole public courses.

According to the Golf Digest Course finder there are 75 courses within 20 miles of my house, and 170 within 30 miles. Many of them are listed as different courses at the same place such as Cog Hill, but still... I have alot of options.

Well this thread got me thinking and question just how many there would be...went to my state's golf association website and by my count, 41 golf courses within a 30 minute drive. A little subjective based on traffic, etc...but more or less 41. More than I thought honestly!

25+, about half of them private. If there was little trafic the number goes up to 30-35.
