No patience required on my part. I knew from their history, this was going to happen. Plus I did not pre-order for that reason. My SGXw is working fine and I can wait for the Touch, whenever it is released and available at my local store. Just like with a lot of electronic products, when they are not released exactly when the consumer wants them, there will be a small number of people that will bellyache (and be drama queens) about how bad this is and how this is completely devastating their life. Skycaddie wants to get this out and available just as bad (if not more) than some people want to buy it. But until they are built and shipped to them from China (or what ever country they are made), there is nothing to sell.

I myself will wait for the touch. I will actually by it after it is out for a while. then put all the updates on to fix the issues. I did this with my SGX and was happy because of it.

I'd recommend picking up a used SGX or SGXw to get you through the year. I've had both, and while the Touch will offer a touchscreen, and BT course transfer, the 2 older models are plenty functional.

I've been really interested in and checking out the Linx (and the Touch) on the SG website. They were both initially listed for early April delivery, then May, now just listed as "coming soon".

Not sure why anyone is surprised by this. I've owned a few SC units along the way and this is their MO on just about every hardware release. Pushed back, back, back, released way late, inevitably there are a # of bugs to be worked out and on top of that you get the "pleasure" of working with their customer service to get them fixed.

Honestly if it really is September, thats basically nearing the end of my full time season. At that point its likely I'll just wait until after the PGA Show and see what other companies are coming out with. Since I dont need something until my UproMX dies I'm thankfully not in a hurry.

I just went and got a used SGX on ebay for 87 shipped to get me by until the TOUCH Is released. I messaged the Skycaddie CS and they would not give me a date but pointed me to the items on the website for order. They told me to watch the site for a date.

I'd be surprised if your information is correct. Look at the Skycaddie website. They are no longer even selling the SGX and SGXW. I do not believe that they would leave their entire high end product line empty until September.

I just confirmed with Discount Dan's the release has been delayed. They mentioned end of the month. GolfGalaxy took the Touch off the website, Golfsmith states June 11 and TGW does not even show the unit.

Called SkyGoof yesterday. They confirmed the Touch is delayed again another 2-3 weeks. Would NOT give me any specific info ever though I insisted on something more concrete. I told them about rumors on web sites saying it won't come out until the fall. They did NOT deny it, but said 2-3 weeks. As this has become their normal response each time their deadline comes up. They did for the first time offer to reimburse my credit card if I wanted. This is NOT a good sign. I told them I would wait a little longer, but if the new Golf Buddy P4 is released, I will take my money back, and move on. At that point I will save on yearly fees, and end my 6 year affiliation with SkyGoof.

I actually ordered a SGX refurbished and it came to me dead out of the box. I called them up and asked how much would it cost just to upgrade to the touch hoping maybe they'd give me some discount for the DOA. The guy said I wouldn't want to do that. They have delayed the shipment due to some problems and he isn't sure when it will ship. He said they are, "Putting the final touches on the apology letter right now" to send out. This was Monday afternoon.

Sucks for you all that have already ordered it. It seems like there is a major flaw or else they could just release it and then fix it with software updates.

I'm fed up at this point with the lack of transparency and the overall feeling of getting jacked around by Skygolf and I'm ready to buy something else.

I purchased a Garmin Approach G6 and couldn't be happier. The SkyCaddie Touch looks nicer and fancier but I bought my Garmin for $235 online and never have to pay another dollar to use it. Great bright screen and so easy to use. The only downside would be its a very small device but I did not struggle once to see my yardages.

I am upset Garmin is now using slope on their newer G7&8 models but the G6 is fantastic. This delay pushed me further over the edge of not being a Sky Golf customer until they get their act together.

Well, the screen turned on so technically it wasn't dead. It just turned on to tell me the boot file on it was corrupted...

Lol. Well, they certainly are consistent with their inconsistency. I got a bad SGXw with inoperable WiFi, and the next one had a broken optical tracking pad.

I am waiting for the posts of cries and complaints about this additional delay. But I have to say it appears that Skygolf was straight with what the problem was, what they are doing to get past it, and when they hope to be able to finally ship. Bottom line is they cannot ship until the FCC certifies the unit. And like any company in this situation, they want to ship because the delay is costing them a lot of money.

When I saw that they were going to charge the credit card immediately when they started taking orders, I knew I could wait until it is shipped and in the stores to purchase. I have read to many stories about people that have pre-ordered something, had an issue, and too much time had passed to challenge the transaction. Plus this is not something I need to be among the "first" to have. So when it shows up at the PGATSS, I will take a look and decide if it is worth buying (and then buy it regardless if is or not).

And until then, I will play with my new toy, Game Golf.

It certainly sux to have your heart set on a new toy for the start of the season, and not receive it, but trust me from experience, you'd much rather wait for them to work out the kinks than to suffer through a beta test where you get to pay your hard earned cash to be the beta tester.

I bought the SGX within a couple hours of my local EW store getting them in. I know all of the issues others had but mine worked perfectly for the over two years I used it before upgrading to the SGXw, which I also have had no problems with. But one thing I always do (but never do for anything else) is buy the extended warranty.

I never saw a need for the extended warranty. The ones that didn't work were broken right out of the box. Once you finally got one from CS that worked, which might take 3 or 4 tries, they never broke. I've had 4 different models, and I beat the crap out of all of them, but they never broke.

Golf Buddy Pt4 has been released. Was reading some user post in another forum on here. So far sounds really good. Think I'll check it out in person when in store. No yearly fees sounds pretty tempting, if it's compatible with the touch. I may be asking for my refund shortly.
