I played six rounds with the 800 Pros in '12 and thought that they were very nice irons. If the 68s are too much iron for me when I come back, I was planning on grabbing a set of them. Though I've never hit the 825s, I didn't like the appearance of em however yours look amazing and that's the kind of appearance that I want if it's not a blade. It never occurred to me that I could get them "cleaned up."

From a performance standpoint, what, if any differences did you find between the 800s and 825s? What shafts do you have in them?

I think the 825s are softer, but keep in mind I had px 6.5 in my 800s vs kbs tour stiff in these 825 and I think the kbs are far less harsh than the px, so it could be shaft as much as the actual forging.

Don't you do it. The 3 wood is such a unique club in that you hit it both off the tee and the deck, sometimes high and sometimes low, both draws and fades, etc. I'm asking for something totally different out of my 3 wood than my driver, thus they will probably never match. If you start to get weak look at some Brandt Snedeker witbs lol

J/K of course, for those that don't know, Duff and I play together regularly and give and take the same $3 off of each other almost every other time we tee it up. It's fun to have a playing partner that pushes you to be better and we're both single digit hunting for 2015.

The only thing I'm failing at is keeping him in a consistent setup for more than 3 months at a time. When he went through THREE sets of Mizuno irons (two sets of JPX800 Pros and his current set of 825 Pros) inside of three weeks, I thought my head was going to fall off.

Played a solid round about a month ago, then shortly after time has been a bit limited due to work. Not getting practice time in that did before, so the flatstick has been a bit of a struggle, no 3 jacks, just not making a few longer ones I normally give a chance. Understand about lack of practice time, just got to play smart and manage expectations so still fun. The noted league sides sound like making some progress, good work.
The Anser 4wd sounds as if could be a promising combination, hope works well for you. An actual dedicated 4wd instead of big loft/face angle changes via adjustable hosel could just work a trick!

Nah man, I was gone for a long time. Just wasn't playin golf. Life and work got in the way, but now I'm back and more obsessed with the game than ever.

 

I've only been back in the mix for about 2, maybe 2.5 months, and I've been trying to find a bag I really liked playing. The setup above is finally it. 3 iron sets, 2 hybrids, a Ping Rapture, new wedges, new golf bag, new golf shoes, new alignment stick covers.....you get the point. The HO in me has reared its ugly head. Love it though. Great to hear from ya, Blink!

Haha, honestly the original post in this thread is probably the cleanest, sweetest setup I've ever had. I love the new Mizunos, but man there is still just something about Titleist that screams "PLAYER!" That bag, minus the Adams driver, was incredible. I've probably owned....oh I dunno......100 clubs since then. At least. Ridiculous. Anyways, thanks for the love!

Listen, you say when and I'll do whatever I can to clear the schedule. I'll tell ya what would be awesome if ya came and we played Bay Creek. It's got a Nicklaus and a Palmer course on the same property. Gps in the carts, always in great condition, the whole 9.

I turned 37 last week and I feel really young, but mentally I feel like my game has taken a step forward while I was away and not playing as much. Just thoughts standing over the ball, recognizing what works and keeping it in the bag instead of chasing distance with my fairway wood, taking a hybrid out in favor of a driving iron, etc. 

 

Looking forward to playing these clubs down to a single digit handicap!

How have the HMPs been treating you? I've been playing 900F but am considering going 921 HMPs for the extra forgiveness. Do you notice that they offer a lot of help on mishits? How's the launch?

Thanks! It’s Good to be remembered! Infamous I think rather than famous though lol! 
 

The HMP are new to me from a great WRXer. Been playing a rotation of Srixon Z545 and Mizuno JPX 850 Forged so these are going to be kind of the best of both worlds it seems. When I get a good number of rounds under my belt I’ll report back!
