Cut the Cord.

I’ve recently “ cut the cord” on cable service, which outlet are likeminded golf fans getting there fix?

PGAtour live, sling TV, or antenna service for major network coverage.

Personally I found Kodi to be complete shite. I gave up with it after six months. Way too unreliable.

Obviously you need a fast internet connection which I assume you have. Then for me the Roku Ultra streams for my NHL and horse racing. I haven’t cut the cord so I really haven’t streamed any golf but I’m sure they have a channel.

Ps Vue via roku sticks and antennas. To be honest I find it to be an inconvenience. Cable is much better. That being said, I’m saving over a grand a year. Just found out Spectrum scheduled a $20 increase for next month. When we called to cancel they offered to cut the price from 215 to 185 for phone, internet, and cable with dvr and all stations, including the premium pay stations for one year. We were tempted but dumped the cable anyway. I think of it this way: if we can deal with the streaming we will save 5 grand in five years. If we cannot we’ll just go back. Either way, the cable companies are getting more and more competition.

The best I've found (and I've tried quite a few) is by Installing Kodi on my Amazon Firestick. Once installed, install the UK Turks Playlist add on. You'll find the Golf channel listed under "Sports". I use the one that says "NBC Golf SD" even though it plays in HD. Get commercials and everything and does not glitch or buffer or anything. Fantastic quality! Super impressed!

Trying the free trial right now. No TNT. Don’t they have the PGA Chamoionship (Thu,Fri, early weekend days)? My only issue with ps Vue is only one of my local broadcast networks and it’s 45 bucks/month (to get TGC). I might dump the streaming services and just go with the scraps on roku and antenna but I cannot give up the golf channel. Need the constant tournament coverage.

Most of the major tournaments get covered on network TV. Grab an HD antenna, and the quality is even better than cable if you have a good signal.

Worked out for me when I had a time that I didn't have cable when moving

I have cable and it's wonderful. No plans to change. I also have TiVo.

If you cut the cord and know someone that still has cable, you can ask them nicely for a login so that you can use apps to stream live tv.
  • Ahh yes, the old let someone else pay for it and mooch it from them plan

I thought I would never go back to comcast/xfinity until 3 years of consolidated’s turtle internet, cable channels constatly flickering in and out, cutting some of the best channels. I have lightening speed and all the best channels in hd now with comcast and paying less. As long as I can keep it that way after the year contract I’m happy.

I have cable but Golf Channel is only in the highest cost channel package. I just plunked down the $40 for PGA Tour Live (seems like a no brainier, especially for big tournaments when morning coverage isn't available) and am trying YouTube tv. I was able to watch Tiger in my home office that doesn't have a cable box by casting to the TV off the computer. The flexibility of being able to watch what I want, wherever I want is awesome. If the kids are tying up the TV I can use my tablet. If I want the golf or game on in my workshop while I regrip clubs or whatever, I can.

I really only had cable for sports. Now that I can get golf and hockey, I will cancel cable next time my contract is up.

Another vote for PS Vue. Been using for a year and never looked back. $44.99 a month. Has DVR built in, and the ability to watch 2 TV's at once, along with 3 mobile devices. Has a ton of channels and a on demand too. No Ad's either. I watch golf channel on my phone at work. And if its Major's time, I can watch on TNT, ESPN, CBS, NBC too with no issues. I tried all the others and they just weren't as robust as this. Also the interface on Apple TV is great.
