They're unique! I would think that they could be a good choice for a very playable semi-vintage bag. One thing is for sure, they would be cheaper to buy than a set of Eye 2 BeCu's!

My problem is LOFT -- Lack of friggin' talent

I was paired up with a guy once who had a fully mixed bag. He had all different irons, none of his wedges matched, etc. His 3, 4, and 5 irons were VAS. Said he played the course almost every day.

On the first tee I had this image that he was a total scrapper, had been collecting this bag of all his favorite clubs from the last 20 years. I just knew he was going to shoot 68 or something. I assumed he knew the course like the back of his hand.

Then he flubbed one off the first tee, and proceeded to shoot like 125. But it was a fun dream while it lasted.

havnt been out in several years. you can laugh and ridicule these all you want but these preform much better than you think. some of the straightest irons i have ever hit. even trying to move the ball is hard. i hit some spectacular shots with these.

Did you lose a bet which required you to play a round with these?

This was the first name brand iron set I bought. . . Played ok with em. Might try to find some just for nostalgia's sake. Probably won't shoot any worse than I do now...90 is 90

There's a goofy younger guy in my league who picks up oddball clubs at thrift shops and the like, he has one of these 1 irons he uses off the tee sometimes. Strangest looking thing I've ever seen outside the Power Pod.

ONOFF Labospec 358 — Tour AD TP6
Titleist TS2 16.5* — Kuro Kage XM 80
Justick Proceed 21* UT — Nippon GOST
Mizuno MP-20 HMB/MB— MITSUBISHI MMT 105/125
Mizuno T20 50* and 55* — MITSUBISHI MMT 125
Seven ST 61* Black Boron — MCI Black 125 “mild”
Epon Ltd Edition I-33 — Matrix PZ-125 Shaft

Believe it or not, there used to be clone versions of the 792 Vasectomies. I would pair them with some sweet Hammer's.

Titleist TSr2 w/ HZRDUS Smoke

Cobra BioCell+ 3W Aldila Tour Green

Cally Razr Hawk 7W Aldila Tour Green

Wilson Staff C200 w/ KBS 115’s
Cleveland DSG 52 & 58
TP Hydroblast Chaska
...all subject to “adjustment” per WRX societal norms...

I got paired up with a guy this summer playing a set of these.
He played pretty good, prolly 10 hdcp or so, iron play was the best part of his game too!
I passed on a set at a pawn shop a while back for $40, should have picked them up for sh*ts and giggles.

Didn't Pavin win a major with them? Went from the 485/588 tour action to those. WOW

Necromancing an old thread for the heck of it....

Pavin played a set of irons with this labeling, but his were very modified. It looks like he did use them in his U.S. Open win.

I played them when first starting out. They were my second set of irons. I thought they would be an improvement for me vs. my first set, Hogan Edges. I was right. I moved from them to the over-hyped TM Burner Bubble irons. A mistake; so much torque in those shafts!

I would jump on them for way more than that if I found a set with reg shafts. I'd love to see the looks on the faces of guys when they saw them on the first tee. I also have young daughters who are starting to take an interest in the game and the vas would be a great set for them with the purple and all haha.

Hi guys - I am switching my woods/hybrid around and removing my 3 wood, keeping hybrid and putting in a OLD 1 iron, these suckers. Cleveland VAS. probably the easiest 1 iron to hit, has largeoffset, low COG, etc. It is between this am old Ping eye 2 2 iron that is bent 1 deg strong (not be me :-). for me was so-so off the deck but solid off the tee, very easy to keep straight.

I cant even find this in the USGA confirming list, does anyone know if these are "approved"? I dont play in many tournaments but try to keep it legit. I am looking at the new mizuni MP18 MMC 2 iron, that looks pretty sweet but havent hit them yet. Current sticks are 3-5 MP-25, 6-PW MP-5, proj X 6.5 +0.5 inch, 1 deg up.

Yes this iron looks horrible but i had it since i bought it new forever ago, kind of nostalgic for me, going to re-grip and give it a shot.
