I agree with this. Both fit great but prefer VV if i had to pick one.

I third this. Even though I have more PM than VV, I wear the vineyards more on and off the course. All of my Peter Millar shirts are the summer comfort series and are great for on the course in the middle of summer but I hardly ever wear them off the course. Vineyard Vines is an all around great brand.

Just bought my first PM shirt a couple weeks ago when I was at Kiawah. The material is very light, and it's a nice looking shirt. I've never had a VV shirt, but my first experience with PM is a really good one. I will likely buy more in the future.

I love the Peter Millar stuff.

I have a couple of VV tech shirts, but I feel like the sleeves are weirdly a little short and they seem to creep up as I play golf.

VV are fine for going out or whatever, but I like the PM better for playing golf.

Well, I tried on the VV polos. Little disappointed with the fit. I wear a XL in all their performance long sleeves but the XL in polos all ran much smaller. Ended up picking up two other long sleeve shirts. The Peter Millar polos fit much better on me

I haven't had a VV in years, but I'm currently obsessed with the fit and performance of the Peter Millar Summer Collection shirts.

This is a fairly large oversimplification. I wear both brands, and at 40, have never looked like I'm wearing 'garanimals'. Over 30, maybe you should go easy on crazy prints... unless that's your jam. It's clothing, have fun with it and wear what catches your eye.

I have 1 Peter Millar polo and love it! Fit and finish better than most.... The only downside is that it breathes less than my other shirts. It's the hottest shirt I own.. But boy does it fit and feel fantastic...

Peter Millar all day every day. The Holderness and Borne stuff is nice too but I’m right in between sizes with their shirts. Medium is too small and the large is too big. Medium PM fits me like a glove. I like the VV golf polos I have but the sleeves are longer and I’m almost swimming in a medium at 6’2” and 190 lbs.

I like Peter Millar over Vineyard Vines. I feel that Vineyard Vines is more frat boy brand. I also believe that Peter Millar makes better quality and better looking polos.

I just tried both on this week, what a time for this thread. The PM standard shirt and the VV both fit very similar - loose. Not quite Footjoy loose, but definitely looser than other brands in the same size. As someone had mentioned before, the PM Tour Fit was much better for me, personally. I'm also 5'8 160, so I'm in a small. They both felt really nice and soft, but man, that PM Tour shirt (granted, i was trying one on at the Scott Cameron Gallery) was just so buttery soft and smooth feeling. I almost bought it..but I couldn't swallow the $98 price tag so I bought a sweet hat and t-shirt for 2/3 the price of that one shirt. Also, the VV clothes to have more of a preppy vibe to them, as that is what the store in general feels like. Very Ralph Lauren like vibe going on when you walk in.

I prefer PM over VV for sure.

That said, if you want to branch out try some Southern Tide stuff. The tech polos are super light and they made a great tech button up too.

Wish we had one of those here...Im a VV fan. I have a bunch of their pique polos and buttonups and probably 3 or 4 golf type/thin shirts. I love their stuff, its real good quality. Its hard to find PM stuff around me but I do have one of their shirts and its held up great. I say go with whatever looks good and feels good. I dont think you can go wrong either way.
